    Greetings!

Well which Ccleaner edition is best and contains all the features? Is it Pro or Technician or Business edition?

    Regards,

Hey @Kamrul Hassan let me give you some information on your question.

I can only go by what exactly I know and I've been using the free version for a very long time and I just (this week) decided to buy the Pro Version. Now back when I had been using the free version though I realized that I couldn't set up any of the scheduled scans and go into and edit any of the advanced features that the program offered. So in this way you do end up benefiting and with that said the pro version is much more beneficial than that of the free version. Here is a link to the differences. That's my two cents :D

If you want a little more insight though, here are a few links that might help you better understand the main differences between the three Versions that Piriform offers [Free/Pro/Business] :

If you would like a little more insight on the subject though, the list of links I've put together below should most likely answer any other questions you may have about the specifics of the three different versions of CCleaner that Piriform has to offer (Businees/Professional/Free) After checking this list out though, if your still having doubts Piriform offers a 30 day free trial. This will give you a chance to get acclimented with the programs 'Pro features' giving you a better idea about whether or not you actually want to start paying the fifteen to twenty dollars that it cost, for the year subscription. For me just this week I realized that it is worth it for me after reading... That it analyzes and scans all while I'm away (with the scheduler) which is specifically good for my circumstances because I tend to forget to do these things due to procrastination. I've chosen a weekly scan and clean-up during a time when I would generally be in bed sleeping which works WONDERS. Now, your specific circumstances may be different and hopefully I've helped to make your decision more clear to you and if I've done this correctly by the time your done reading this post you should have made up your mind!
Have fun and keep your computer clean and virus free!

    Let us know how it

    goes.

Thank you so much for your feedback. I don't know if you checked out the Speccy file that I attached to the original post. But just for future reference, I'm currently running what most people would consider and outdated version of Windows. "Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP2." So I took all of your advice but looked up the stuff for my operating system instead of the Windows 10 stuff that you provided just in case, not doing so would cause me to run into roadblocks. But turns out it works all the same I'm currently running the sfc /scannow on my elevated command prompt and will let you know how everything goes after following all of the steps provided.

    **EDIT**

    System File Check successfully completed

    ----------------------------------------

Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files and successfully repaired them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

So I followed this path provided and when I tried opening the CBS.txt file I got an alert message stating "Access Denied" So what could have possibly caused that?

and just to rule it out, also based on the PC's age, check your date/time is correct.

your CMOS battery may have died.I see a lot of 'certificate errors' are due to the wrong system time.

And as far as the date/time causing my issue I checked to make sure my date and time was correct and I don't believe that is the issue but again at this point any feedback is great feedback so thang you so much "mta" much appreciated. I don't know if you or hazelnut looked at the attachments i sent over with the post but if not I would greatly appreciate a quick look over of them just to help me trouble shoot. If and when the system file checker (Sfc /scannow) doesn't seem to do the trick I'm most definitely going to be looking for further help.

Now I was thinking though. If none of the above nor further troubleshooting of my problem can help resolve my problem. Isn't there a way to completely erase everything from my harddrive and use the disks that came with the computer to fully reinstall that Operating system. Now like I mentioned in my original post I have done this many times and maybe this new problem presisted after these installs but lets just say I do go about resolving it this way what steps should I take to make sure that after doing so everything will be back to normal. And if possible what's the newest operating system (if any) would you guys think would be the best to install on my system (as long as the prerequisites needed to run them coinside with my current system. I am getting a bit ahead of myself because honestly i would like to avoid a re-install at all costs.

  3. Okay. Here goes my first Piriform forum post (Hope this goes as well as I imagine)

**I have attached a zipped folder (Due to file size restrictions) with:
    - My computer's specifications using "Speccy" (To give everyone a little info about my setup)

    AND

    - A text file containing the duplicate list results using the "Tools" function in "CCleaner"

(Thinking "this HAS to be part of my problem" You'll see....)

    ---------------

    Back Story

    ---------------

I have a Dell desktop that's about 10 or more years old. I have put it through a bunch of reinstalls that caused a folder (called windows.old) that took me forever to delete each time. Not sure if I should or shouldn't have deleted it but I made the choice of doing so due to hard drive space restrictions. Then at some point, I had a worm virus due to unidentified and unwanted activity from my 4 other siblings. It got so bad at a certain point that I wasn't even sure If I would be able to bring my computer back to its full capabilities and functionalities. I basically thought I would have to get rid of it completely.

At this point, I recently moved and just set it all back up. I'm living alone now and don't have to worry about other people using the computer. So I was feeling very good about getting all of my stuff that I had accumulated on a temporary laptop between my moving period. Kind of like a "new beginning" type feeling. I'm sure everyone reading this can relate. You have your personal flash drive with all of your beloved files that you want to kind of sort through and delicately place in their perspective folders onto your nice new computer.

    -----------------

    The Problem

    -----------------

Now that you have some back story... I've just recently been trying to download a couple of add-on files for Microsoft Word.exe and kept getting this error message:

"A file that is required cannot be installed because the cabinet file C:\Users\Steven\AppData\Local\PackageCache\{F7C0146C-30D1-4DB5-9D84-D02453CA6BBB}V6.5.85\GrammarlyAddinFiles.cab has an invalid digital signature. This may indicate that the cabinet file is corrupt."

So I checked to see what was up and as weird as it sounds I don't have a folder in my personal user folder called "AppData" so I'm sitting in awe. After a while, I said ok fine. I moved on. But it was the last straw when today I go to download a program, a simple .exe program that I should not have had a problem at all with downloading. And I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about when your D/L'ing something and you can see the files being installed as the progress bar fills up. When all of a sudden it's at the very end and the progress bar just freezes and I notice that the specific path for the file that it froze on was very very similar to the path in the error message above.

So I obviously have a HUGE issue/problem. I know that it has something to do with the "AppData" folder but I'm not an expert. But for its age I think my computer is pretty nice and getting rid of it, is something I would like to make a last resort. I'll try anything at this point to resolve the issue. Any input feedback or anything of that could help me get this squared away would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Guys!

    Regards,

    Steven Mooney.

PS: Don't forget if you have a question to first check out the attached txt files I've provided below Thanks again!
