  1. Hi Len, I registered here just to try and help you out. Like yourself, I too have had this problem and have found two possible solutions. I hope this works for you too. If you have the Pro version, try this: Open CCleaner, then go to Options ---> Monitoring and untick "Enable browser monitoring". It should now work. Failing that, or for those who don't have the pro version, there is a less than ideal way but it works nonetheless...... Close dllhost.exe prior to cleaning. Two ways of doing this: Open task manager on your pc/laptop, go to the 'details' tab, reorganise by name and find and delete all instances of dllhost. Then run CCleaner immediately as the dllhost has a tendency to return after a short time. Or for those who understand bat/batch files, try to use a bat file like this: @echo off taskkill /f /im dllhost.exe start "" "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe" /AUTO There, hope that solves the problem for you. It worked for me. edit: additionally, you could try this - In your PC/laptop settings go to Privacy and then scroll down to Background Apps and turn Microsoft Edge off. This will stop it from running in the background. To confirm you may have to reboot.
