  1. Recent versions of CCleaner (5.37.6309) hang when they get to deleting Internet Explorer history. Since I don't know the reason for it and I don't use Internet Explorer, is it a favorable solution to simply uncheck Internet Explorer history, or is this necessary for some other programs? After unchecking it, it doesn't hang like that anymore.
  2. I cleaned everything out of IE and still had the same problem with CCleaner. I then uninstalled CCleaner and rebooted and then installed an older version of CCleaner. That one seems to work. The problem didn't start until after I renamed one of my users. I don't know if the stalling had anything to do with either IE or with renaming the user either. The reason I thought it might have to do with renaming the user, is because the first time it stalled that way, there was a flash of a file (like a file pathway in Windows Explorer) with the original user name from before it was renamed
  3. Using 5.28.6005 (64 bit) CC Cleaner hangs at the first entry which is Internet Explorer History when I start it up for about 20 seconds and then goes through the normal deletion for the default settings on the Windows tab. I've never had it hang before except when FF is still running. I don't use Internet Explorer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it. I also tried getting rid of a user name which I had changed. Thanks
  4. Hi Andavari, Thanks for your response. Could you tell me what Compact Databases are? The Compact Databases is already unticked. Do you happen to know what change CCleaner is making to the Firefox settings each time I run it, which Kaspersky is then reversing? Is it changing the setting which refers to Compact Databases? The only information I get in my logs is that Kaspersky is reversing a change which CCleaner is making to the settings in Firefox. It doesn't say anything about a change in the settings of CCleaner. I feel a little trapped in a disagreement by two companies r
  5. Kaspersky detects CCleaner as changing settings in Firefox. It's not clear what it's changing.
  6. I've been using CCleaner for many years and tried Kaspersky for internet protection and antivirus this year. During the past several months, whenever I use CCleaner, Kaspersky gives me a popup that CCleaner has made a change to my browser and Kaspersky has set it back to where it was. I don't know what is being changed and changed back. Also, although I have CCleaner set to the default settings, I never see any logs or temporary files being erased and I wondered why they don't appear in the window which shows what has been erased? Thanks!
