nukecad I wondered if the appearance of the window after clicking 'Run Cleaner' was connected in some way to the upgrade. I thank you for your immediate response and taking the trouble to explain so clearly. I am reassured.

1. I upgraded my laptop to Windows 10 from 8.1 three days ago. I run CCLeaner daily. I see 'Internet Explorer - Temporary Internet Files' in its analysis, still. I thought IE would have been removed and replaced completely by Microsoft Edge in the upgrade process. However: 2. A window appears each time I click CCleaner's 'Run Cleaner' button stating, "Microsoft Edge Cache Database and Internet Explorer needs to be closed to clean the internet cache. Do you want CCleaner to close Microsoft Edge Cache Database and Internet Explorer?" Neither has ever been open at the time to my knowledge.

My Windows 8 64-bit PC flashes User Account Control for CCleaner Free version 5.14.5493 in the taskbar upon startup since several days ago, which it has never done previously. I have not changed anything on my PC so far as I am aware. Options>Advanced has 'Skip User Account Control warning' checked.
