The old edge is built in, that's still there, I use it seldom but ccleane makes it all go away not so, as you can see in the picture with edge chrom
It's like Cortana and One Drive (and old Edge which it is replacing); you can uninstall or disable the interface but they cannot be removed completely.Once you have installed Edge Chrome on any version of Windows 10 it will always leave traces behind that you cannot remove.
You can hide it, as APMichael says, but it will still be there as long as Win 10 is still there.
I suppose if you still have an ISO for the old Win 10 version you could reinstall that and start from scratch again?

There has been an update earlier today to fix a bug that was closing the screen for some users, so you may want to try downloading/installing again now.Secondly:
Unless your computer has a problem then it is not recommended to use any Registry Cleaner; especially with Windows 10.Registry Cleaning is an advanced tool that can sometimes be useful when fixing a computer that is having issues.
It should not be used on a regular basis, it will not 'speed up' a computer, or save anymore than a few bytes of disc space.Unless your computer is having issues, and you are familiar with the registry and how it works, then don't use a registry cleaner at all.

I thought it was the Taskbar Jumplists, but couldn't quite remember because I turned those off some time ago in Windows itself.
Just remember that if you are ever tempted to use Health Check again that it will not use those custom settings. (So will clear them again).

The trial option is built into CCleaner whether you choose to use it or not.
The 'Standard' and 'Slim' installers are just different installers, they both install exactly the same CCleaner.
Why are there 2 different installers? (3 if you count Portable, which isn't an installer just the bare programme).
The Slim/Portable were originally intended for technicians and advanced users, who may be doing a lot of installations or wanted a CCleaner they could carry round on a USB stick.
Nowadays the graphics used by the user offers in the Standard installer will not work with Win7 or older, and so the Slim is the option if you want to install CCleaner on Win 7.
It also gives another option if someone is having problems installing.

There has just been a minor update issued to take CCleaner to v5.66.7716
Apparently there was a bug in the Pro Trial that was causing this open/dissapper issue for some users, and users report that this update has fixed it.

You can't uninstall / completely get rid of Edge Chrome - It's built into the Windows OS.Files that come back can have a few reasons, automatically created by Windows, synced browser, live tiles on the start menu, etc.

Just make sure it's not set as the default browser and then ignore it until there is a soultion to why it won't currently uninstall.
Many people have unused browsers and other software they never use just sat around on their computer doing nothing, unless you are short of storage space it's not a real problem just a slight annoyance if you don't want it there.

It's a bit hard to miss these days, it's a full page in the CCleaner installer now. (or at least should be).
I've asked the staff for an update on what is happening with the uninstall problem.

I'd do a restart (not shutdown/reboot) anyway and would then open Task Manager from the Task bar and make sure that CCleaner is not running in the background. (Smart Cleaning could do it).
That can sometimes cause install errors so 'End Task' on it if it is.Then try installing CCleaner again.
TBH I'm not sure that if ESET has quarantined it once then you need to change something in ESET itself?
It doesn't seem so, from what others have reported then once the ESET definitions have been updated then all is well. -
It's a know false positive by ESET.
It's been fixed but you need to update your ESET definitions if they haven't updated automatically.

They are not the same, and they do two very different things.'Run CCleaner when the Computer starts' runs a clean in the background (no display) when you startup - and then closes CCleaner altogether. (Unless you have Smart cleaning enabled).
'Smart Cleaning', if enabled, will launch at startup but will not do a clean (Unless the junk limit set has been reached), it will then remain running in the background all the time to keep checking the limit.

Are you using Health Check or Custom Clean?
I'm not sure if Health Check clears those by default? It may well do.
To stop it try using Custom Clean, and then untick 'Recent Documents' and/or possibly 'Taskbar Jumplists' under 'Windows Expolrer'.
To set Custom Clean as the default method that CCleaner will use then go to Options>Settings and change 'CCleaner Home Screen' to 'Custom Clean.

What kind of files are not deleted (files extension)? Are they system files?
They may be protected from deletion.
Many system files have needed duplicates in more than one location, removing those dulicates can stop you machine from working properly.
You should only delete duplicated files when you know just what the duplicates are, ie. you own documents, photos, etc.

Have you updated Trend Micro to the 2020 version?
Many users have reported that once Trend Micro is updated to 2020 then CCleaner works as expected again.
NOTE - Updating Trend Micro from within Trend Micro itself will tell you that you are up to date - but you may not be.

Update your Antivirus definitions, some are being slow to update automatically (due to everyone at the AV company working at home because of Covid-19?).

I think that you have two seperate issues here.
Firstly
If Chrome was open then CCleaner would Skip the cleaning of it, which may be causing part of what you are seeing. (Especially if you have the 'Skip' warning turned off).
CCleaner cannot clean anything that is open/running.Second
It seems that you are normally using a user (non-admin) account, if so then which account is CCleaner installed on, user or Admin? and is it the Free or Pro version of CCleanerThe Free version can only clean the account it is installed on.
Pro can clean all user accounts from an Admin account, if it has been set to do so.I don't think that Pro can clean all accounts from a non-admin account though, unless possibly if run as Administrator from a right click?
Again that seems to fit in with what you are reporting. -
It sounds as if ESET removed your CCleaner yesterday.
There was a short period where ESET was falsely flagging (the new version of) CCleaner and blocking/removing it.
ESET is fixed now and so, after making sure you update ESETs definitions, you should be able to restore CCleaner from ESETs quarantine.
Or simply reinstall CCleaner, however if you do that you may need to re-enter a valid product key (if ESET has removed the reference), so it's probably better to restore the one from quarantine if you don't have that key.
