  1. In reply to your concern with upgrading your cpu, I think that since you have an i3 model, upgrading to a i5/i7 shouldn't be a problem, as long as you have the same socket number of cpu. If you post a question to your motherboard manufacturer regarding this issue, they would confirm this is possible or not. You may need to upgrade your heatsink/fan unit for dealing with the extra power of the upgrade. My i5 is a 4th generation model although Speccy lists it as 6th generation, so check your cpu's details from the model number with Intel. Lastly, do you really need an upgrade, remember that the cpu's are manufactured the same way with relation to their generation and so each of the i3, i5, i7 etc are chosen by the testing processes after manufacture.
  2. I have encountered a reading in Speccy for my motherboards temperature, which shows 120C!!! Tried checking in the Forums and the internet for any possible causes and the only response I have received states that it could be a false reading. I am concerned with this reading for my motherboard, which I installed in January of this year (2020). It is an Asus board and I checked with this manufacturer whether this is something I should deal with but their answer was indifferent. It is a new board but a model superceded. I have an Intel Core i5 4670 (6th Generation), which shows temperature of 30C approx and all other temperatures are as expected. Would very much appreciate a possible solution to this issue. 3. Appreciate the replies from Nukecad and Doffy and their advice. Muchos gracias Guys. The day after I had the issue, I successfully downloaded/installed the update - so happy now.
  4. As of today, I am trying to update my free version =f CCleaner v.5.41.6446 to the latest v.5.42.6495.. Each time I have accepted to update, the download file, which is supposed to be v.6.42.6495 only gives me v.5.41.6446. I have tried on both my pc's (Win 7 SP1) with the same result. I have just uninstalled CCleaner (v.5.41.6446) and shut down pc and restarted. I then went to downloaded and installed. Again the download I got was v.5.41.6446. I went to the site to download latest version but only got the version I already have. Appreciate any help with this issue. Have used CCleaner for many years and it has been faultless thus far!
