Hi, and thanks for the welcome. My System Restore is set at 12%, and it has retained all of the restore points made after I uninstalled CCleaner from my laptop, yesterday morning. I'm only using the newest version on my laptop (which is also new), but have used CCleaner on my desktop for over a year with no problems. I guess I could try setting up a new restore point on my laptop and then installing CCleaner, uncheck "temporary internet files", and give CCleaner a run, per your suggestions. Do you think it would be worthwhile?

Firstly, I've used CCleaner on my Desktop, for over a year, and it always works a treat. Secondly, I've started using CCleaner with my new Acer laptop - it's a nightmare!! It basically removes all of the restore points from System Restore when it runs. A colleague of mine, who installed CCleaner on his Acer laptop, experienced the same problem. Is this only a problem with Acer laptops, or has anyone else had the same thing happen with their laptop? Is there a remedy? Please help, thanks.
