  1. What method is the Software Updater using to determine the version number of Beyond Compare?

On my primary desktop PC, I've got Beyond Compare 4.2.9 installed, which is the latest version. However, the software updater in CCleaner thinks that Beyond Compare 4.1.9 is installed. I've even tried installing 4.2.9 again, over itself, however the Software Updater still thinks that 4.1.9 is installed.

On my other PC, the Software Updater correctly recognizes that Beyond Compare 4.2.9 is installed.

  2. I've installed CCleaner v5.00.5050 on my Win 7 x64 machine. It has two monitors, and the taskbar is oriented vertically along the left edge of the left monitor. When I try to maximize CCleaner on the left monitor, it leaves a gap on the left side, and the maximized CCleaner window takes up space on the second monitor to the right. In other words, it's getting the coordinates completely wrong and is maximizing across both monitors.

  4. I wonder if anyone at Piriform even reads these forum threads, and whether there's even any point reporting bugs. This wasn't a request for technical support, it was a bug report.

On a separate note, the memory timings reported by Speccy for this system don't match with reality either, so I guess it just means Speccy can't be trusted for accurate information. Better to use HWiNFO64, CPU-Z, AIDA64, etc., which do show accurate information.
