Windows 7 admin accounts are not exactly the same as they were in earlier Windows systems. Your account may be an admin account, but it's a limited admin account. To run an application / installer / uninstaller as the full Administrator, you must use the method that Hazelnut has mentioned.

Correction: Filehippo actually redirects to the Adobe download server (fpdownload.macromedia.com), so it really downloads the latest available version.
-
For once, Filehippo still has the old (10.3.181.14) installer. The latest clean installer (ActiveX 10.3.181.16) can be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
-
It may have been a leftover from the time when Microsoft had their own proprietary Java VM.
-
There has been a new Flash Player ActiveX 10.3.181.16 released for IE9 yesterday. Download it from http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html (The Flash Player plugin remains unchanged as version 10.3.181.14)

Thank you, but our IP address has changed again, and I have no problem with this new address.

Thanks for the info; I have the same on Firefox 3.6 I cannot currently use Firefox 4, as there is some conflict with my current PostgreSQL version (when I tried FF4 a few weeks ago, all inserts ended up duplicate in the database).
-
Unlike the default download page with the download manager and its bundled crapware, the link that I posted are clean downloads, where most likely 3rd-party download sites like Filehippo obtain their downloads. The link also contains MSI installers, and installers for other platforms like Mac and Linux.

I think the reason is that when the generated file is opened in Excel, Firefox has already saved the file under a temp name in the Temp folder. This is probably why Temp is offered as the target when I use Save As. Anyway, my shortcut is no longer deleted, but you made me curious about CACLS, so I will read up on it a bit...
-
Filehippo now already lists Flash Player 10.3.181.5 (RC1) on this location. The latest version of Flash Player (for all platforms and browsers) can always be found at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/fp_distribution3.html
-
I am now getting the 403 (forbidden) error when trying to access the forum from 183.177.186.171
-
Thank you; mine is already set to the target folder I want, but it still opens in the Temp folder: Well, at least CCleaner does no longer delete my shortcut in the Temp file...
-
I'll be happy to explain... I have a web application (HTML, JavaScript, PostgreSQL) from which I generate dozens of Excel docs every day. These docs must be saved in a specific folder for further processing. However, when I click Save As is Excel, it always opens in the Temp folder. This is why I created a shortcut in there to quickly redirect me to the target folder. If you have any suggestion how I can avoid that Temp folder, I'd be very happy. (The Excel docs are created from Firefox 3.6).
-
Thanks; I didn't know we could do that. Just did it successfully...

Hello, everyone - I haven't been around here for a while... I have a shortcut in my %TEMP% folder that I need to keep. I have made that shortcut read-only, and it usually stays there for a while. But sometimes (not every time) after I run CCleaner, that shortcut is gone. How can I make that shortcut file undeletable? (I have tried to add it to the CCleaner exceptions (Exclude), but it won't accept that shortcut.lnk filename. When I type the filename and click Open, it will just go to the target folder of that shortcut.) Edit: system is Windows XP-SP3, file system NTFS.
-
Do you have any toolbars (e.g. Ask toolbar) that could be responsible for that behaviour?
-
Reader 8.2 runs very nicely on my old Windows 2000 machine; no need for bloody Foxit that forces spyware on computers without any opt-out or uninstaller! But Reader X works perfect on XP-SP3 systems and up.
-
Can you try a System Restore to a point before the problem started?
-
Glad you figured it out; thanks for the feedback.
-
WOW - why would you do that...? I remember well that Win 9x needed regular reinstalls or at least repair installs every few months. But there is absolutely no need for that on modern NT-based Windows systems. I have never reinstalled any of my Windows 2000 or XP systems. Why would I? Both 2000 and XP run a lot better than after the initial install. This is because I have tweaked and optimized the systems over the years. All that (and all installed programs) would be lost if I did a reinstall. Anyway, I am curious why you reinstall Windows on a regular basis?

The lang subfolder does contain all the lang DLLs. The ones in the main CCleaner folder were probably leftovers from CCleaner 1.0
