  1. Well, this could easily turn into a flamer's thread, but here goes.... People have argured over this since the release of Windows XP, could deleting prefetch files slow down your PC? Yes and no.... Deleting system prefetch files "can" slow down your startup time, by a matter of 2-5 seconds (dear god I can't wait 5 whole seconds)... Deleting application prefetch files "can" slow down the application startup, by milliseconds (again, I have no time to wait milliseconds). I would clean Prefetch, but only ever 2 or 3 months, as it can take up disk space, and there could be old prefetch files from programs you have uninstalled. The prefetch will build back up, but it could take several reboots to do it. There has also been rumors (a few on this thread) removing the prefetch files crashed their programs. I highly doubt it, prefetch is an setting in Windows XP, and it can be disabled. So, I doubt prefetch makes that much of a difference in the operating of Windows XP. F.Y.I - Me and MrG have been talking, and he is probably going to do something different with Prefetch in CCleaner, in the next release.
  2. True story.... A couple of days ago, my laptop started to lock up every now, and then during startup. I have tried almost everything... Well I decided to say NO to WGA and guess what. It doesn't lockup anymore, I figured it was the WGA, because it would hang with starting it. Yes, I have a legal copy of XP. This laptop is only 2 weeks old.
  3. Because using just 1 extension name wouldn't work. That would be too simple, that's not the way the world works.

  8. It sounds like it's a setting in the program itself. Probably somewhere in Options.
  9. If you are using hotmail, yahoo, or other web based emails. Then, yes it is the autocomplete. Just uncheck it and that should fix it.

  11. Of course he's not. BTW, nice Sig.
  12. Most do have misses and false warnings, but AVG does have it's misses. Weither it is alot or not, I don't know. But, I have used AVG and it did have a miss when I used it. I would listen to Tarun anyways, he's pretty intelligent when it comes to programs and security.
  13. I recommend staying away from Norton, I have gave them too many chances. I just bought a laptop a week ago and it had a trial version of NIS 06 on it. So I paid $60 for the license and well, 2 days later I bought eTrust Internet Suite. Norton was giving me alot of crap. I have used many Norton products in hope they would work, but I have been disappointed in all of them.
  14. It will clear all usernames and passwords that deal with website logins. It will not clear usernames and passwords that with the programs itself.
  15. I made a simple to use version and did some changes to it. Just PM me if you want to test it out.
  16. Sorry for leaving so long and not telling anyone. Life lot a little rough for me and I could barely afford my bills. I am ok now, I now have a laptop and wireless internet. I will try to update things this week. Again, sorry for leaving like that...
