  1. If you have a Samsung drive, you can use Samsung Magician.
  2. It will all work the same, CCleaner isn't a very big program. There is an installer version or portable version on the Builds page.
  3. Anyone else using it yet? I'm pretty much going to use it as my daily browser. It's not perceft, but it does work good.
  4. Try this... Use regedit, go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Piriform\CCleaner (Cfg)SoftwareUpdater 0 is OFF 1 is ON Is it set to 0?
  5. I'm guessing just FileHippo, they probably have a partnership going or something.
  6. Yea, I've been keeping track on this. At first EA said it was "just" looking into, but soon after they said EA and Sony are working together to try and solve it. From what I am hearing, a game can't just brick or crash a console like that. It's something between the game's coding and the firmware on the console. Sony will probably have to fix it with a firmware update.
  7. Sometimes or most of the time.... Chrome runs in the background as a task, Microsoft Edge does the same thing too. I just let CCleaner do it's thing, but that's just me.
  8. I don't think they could get their own browser engine to function with the speed and features of the other browser so why not go with the best (so to speak). This is a win, win for everyone. A independent browser that doesn't rely on the core Windows ecosystem (yet) and Microsoft is even submitting code to improve the browser.
  9. What do you think about the new Office Icons? Full Story
  10. If you bought CCleaner Professional. You can contact them directly for priority support at https://www.ccleaner.com/support
  11. Imagine $9.99 or £7 per channel. Even more than that for some. Cable will have to increase it's cost every year, I figured because of the streaming of channels. You will have to pick and choose what few channels you want. But, what about data caps on your internet? That does need to go away.
  12. When installing anything, always read it before hitting Next. You could also just download the slim build. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds
  13. Never used it really, ever....
  14. You need to download the latest version of CCleaner and the issue will go away. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download
  15. It's always good to backup your whole system. I do it once every two weeks, but that is just me. I have never had any issues with the Registry Cleaner, but I have a default system. I don't have any custom system folder locations, or any different locations for anything major. Just create a system restore point and backup the registry when asked during cleaning (you just never know). If you run into any issues, feel free to post here.
  16. There is a chance when downloading the latest version of Speccy that your anti-virus program will flag the installer for Speccy to contain a Trojan, and/or a Virus. This is a what we call a "false positive". Meaning that there is actually not a virus inside the program. It's usually caused by the Google bundle that is inside the setup file. The issue is usually fixed within 24 hours. There is some thing you can do to fix the problem too. If you receive a Trojan/Virus warning when trying to install Speccy, please report this "false positive" to the company in which makes the anti-virus program you use. Thank you for using Speccy!

  20. It doesn't contain any Trojans or viruses. It could be a false positive or it could be detecting Google Chrome install option. This happens with almost every release.
  21. Have you tried running CHKDSK by any chance?
  22. CCleaner is not deleting Google Chrome History? There are a few workarounds to fix the problem. There is not a problem with CCleaner, it's because Google Chrome is cloud based. #1) Chrome is synced to your Google account. Therefore all browsing information is stored there and won't be cleaned. You can either disable History from the Chrome sync settings, or stop syncing. Go to Menu, Settings, Sign in. This will fix the problem most of the time. There is another workaround, if for some reason the above does not work. #2) When a process associated with Google Chrome is running during the cleaning operation. All internet browsers need to be closed in order for them to be cleaned properly by CCleaner. *There is a setting in Chrome that allows background applications to run after Chrome has already been closed. Go to Menu, Settings, Show advanced settings... uncheck "Continue running background apps when Google Chrome is closed". Hopefully this will fix the problem!
  23. You would need an external hard drive enclosure. If it's really old, it would be IDE.
