  1. The following entry, from the latest Winapp2.ini (230224), [Microsoft Edge Bookmarks Backup *] LangSecRef=3006 DetectFile=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Edge* FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Micrsoft\Edge*\User Data\*|*Bookmarks.bak has the same typo in its' FileKey1 - the first "o" in "Microsoft" is missing !!
  2. To download the standard, slim and portable builds for a current or previous CCleaner release use the following URLs, where "xxx" is version number, e.g. "603" for current CCleaner v6.03 release. https: // download.ccleaner.com /ccsetupxxx.exe https: // download.ccleaner.com/slim /ccsetupxxx_slim.exe https: // download.ccleaner.com/portable /ccsetupxxx.zip For example, the following URLs would be used to download the previous v6.02 standard and slim and v5.91 portable builds of CCleaner, respectively. NOTE: CCleaner portable build v5.91 was the last working, i.e. properly installed, portable build prior to the current v6.03 release. https://download.ccleaner.com/ccsetup602.exe https://download.ccleaner.com/slim/ccsetup602_slim.exe https://download.ccleaner.com/portable/ccsetup591.zip
  3. I strongly agree with @Melchior that the following winapp.ini entry for Mozilla/Firefox browsers, "Bookmarks", [Mozilla - Bookmarks] ID=2494 LangSecRef=3026 LangRef=9202 Default=True SpecialDetect=DET_MOZILLA SpecialKey1=N_MOZ_BOOKMARKS added with the CCleaner v5.92.9652 release, be renamed from "Bookmarks" to "Bookmark Backups" to more accurately reflect what is being "cleaned"/removed. BTW this entry has been available in the "Winapp2.ini" extended database of cleaning routines for CCleaner for many years under the same preferred name, "Bookmark Backups *". It was only very recently removed from "Winapp2.ini" with the release of CCleaner v5.92.9652, which made it redundant.
  4. @AnraDownload attached file, Register_DLLs_Actxprxy_and_Ieproxy.bat (contents also shown immediately below), to Downloads folder or Desktop or folder of your choice. @echo off :: 32 bit and 64 bit IF EXIST "%SystemRoot%\System32\actxprxy.dll" "%SystemRoot%\System32\regsvr32.exe" "%SystemRoot%\System32\actxprxy.dll" IF EXIST "%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\ieproxy.dll" "%SystemRoot%\System32\regsvr32.exe" "%ProgramFiles%\Internet Explorer\ieproxy.dll" :: 64 bit only (32bit on 64 bit) IF EXIST "%WinDir%\SysWOW64\actxprxy.dll" "%WinDir%\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe" "%WinDir%\SysWOW64\actxprxy.dll" IF EXIST "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Internet Explorer\ieproxy.dll" "%WinDir%\SysWOW64\regsvr32.exe" "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Internet Explorer\ieproxy.dll" Go to this chosen folder or Desktop, right click file and "Run as administrator", entering password if prompted. Restart Windows (Start -> Shutdown -> Restart) and then test fix using Windows Explorer. Good luck! Register_DLLs_Actxprxy_and_Ieproxy.bat
  5. @AnraThe fix for this old Windows 7 problem is to use regsvr32 to re-register two Windows proxy DLLs (actxprxy.dll and ieprxy.dll) and restart Windows. See the following Microsoft forum topic from 2010 for the simple fix (using short .bat/.cmd script) and detailed explanation of the problem. https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/folders-open-in-new-window-despite-folder-option/5fba3897-7655-4068-8992-2d8b20063b3f
  6. @Dave CCleaner, in changing the title of this topic you introduced a typo: "crfl" rather than "crlf" for carriage return/line feed. You might want to correct it so others searching for it now, and possibly in the future, will have an easier time finding it. Thanks!
  7. @ThomasLG You can download the standard installer for Ccleaner v5.88.9346 here: https://download.ccleaner.com/ccsetup588.exe Be sure to turn off/uncheck automatic updates (Options -> Updates) BEFORE reinstalling 5.88.9346, otherwise Ccleaner will automaticaly update itself back to 5.89.9401 !!
  8. @trium In the english: "Duplicate Finder", Finder is used as a noun. So, the german old: "Duplicate Finder" is correct using Finder (noun) rather than finden (verb), and the only correction should be using Duplikate rather than Duplicate. So, in summary, the german new should be "Duplikate Finder".
  9. @johnccleaner This topic should probably be moved to CCleaner Browser Help sub-forum. https://community.ccleaner.com/forum/39-ccleaner-browser-help/
  10. @SMalikI believe it's %UserProfile% and NOT %UsersProfile% !!
  11. CCleaner v5.75.8238 Announcements forum posting below has wrong version number of 5.74 rather than 5.75 and should be corrected. Thanks in advance! cbaumer0628
  12. @nateinva I noticed typo in one of your screenshots above. support.periform.com s/b support.piriform.com
  13. Just bumping this thread to get a belated fix for the previous CCleaner release (v5.65.7632) announcement! Thanks in advance!
  14. @Stephen CCleaner In Announcements forum posting for CCleaner v5.65.7632, https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/57660-ccleaner-v5657632/?do=findComment&comment=317202 "Read more" and "View the full article" links at end of posting BOTH link, incorrectly, to exactly the same release announcement for v5.64.7613 https://www.ccleaner.com/news/release-announcements/2020/03/03/ccleaner-v5647613 rather than the appropriate release announcement for v5.65.7632 https://www.ccleaner.com/news/release-announcements/2020/03/24/ccleaner-v5657632 Also, two links to the same thing is redundant, so maybe the "Read more" link should go. Lastly, the release announcement linked to for v5.65.7632 https://www.ccleaner.com/news/release-announcements/2020/03/24/ccleaner-v5657632 contains a second "Smart Cleaning" section with 3 bullet points about languages and translations that probably should be renamed from "Smart Cleaning" to "Localization" to match the Announcements forum posting. https://community.ccleaner.com/topic/57660-ccleaner-v5657632/?do=findComment&comment=317202 Thanks in advance for your kind attention to these matters!
  15. Doing a search on the path, C:\Windows\Temp\CC-Updates\UPDATE-FA2D7D3123A488949AB5ED5991C2CAA2.EXE I concur with hazelnut that the "CC" in the path refers to Adobe's Creative Cloud software and NOT Ccleaner.
  16. Announcement for CCleaner v5.62.753 contains bad download links for CCleaner Free and CCleaner Professional, with "forum.piriform.com" rather than "www.ccleaner.com" in link URLs, which should be corrected. Download now! You can download CCleaner Free here. (LINK URL: https://forum.piriform.com/ccleaner/download) Fancy a few more features? Download the CCleaner Professional trial version here (LINK URL: https://forum.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/professional) Thanks in advance for your attention to this matter.
  17. Should this topic be moved to the following forum? https://forum.piriform.com/forum/37-ccleaner-browser-suggestions/
  18. Great job on the changelog. Thanks! One correction though: "Explorer MRUs * has been modified." should be changed to "Explorer MRUs * was removed." See APMichael's pull request, https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/pull/166
  19. Like [Windows ShellBags *], [Window Size/Location Cache] may be an entry users may NOT wish to enable. I know this is true for me. So, keeping [Window Size/Location Cache] as a separate entry from [Other Explorer MRUs] entry, as is the case currently in winsys.ini, would be preferable for these users.
  20. Missed one. https://forum.piriform.com/topic/32310-winapp2ini-additions/?do=findComment&comment=291884
  21. Can break Windows 8+, not 7, correct?
  22. Just a very minor typo in comment on line 652: ; Thunderbird entires. --> ; Thunderbird entries. Thanks!
  23. Your "NEW" [skype Messages*] entry is actually modification of existing [skype ChatSync*] entry below. [skype ChatSync*] LangSecRef=3022 Detect=HKCU\Software\Skype Default=False FileKey1=%AppData%\Skype\*\chatsync|*.*|RECURSE IMHO [skype Messages*] is clearer name for this entry. However, because of bad experience for me personally (and many others as I recall) when clearing of Skype "chatsync"/message history was first added as part of [skype More*] entry in 2011 version of Winapp2.ini, I would highly recommend that this replacement entry for [skype ChatSync*] be modified as follows to also include a warning. Further modified NEW [skype Messages*] entry to replace existing [skype ChatSync*] entry: [skype Messages*] LangSecRef=3022 Detect=HKCU\Software\Skype Default=False Warning=This will delete your chat message history! FileKey1=%AppData%\Skype|offline-storage.data;dc.db|RECURSE FileKey2=%AppData%\Skype\*\chatsync|*.*|RECURSE
  24. Like DazzyBox, on my PC running Windows XP SP3, I too have noticed that CCleaner's (CC) (v4.08.4428) Tools->Startup->Firefox tab is showing only data for plugins and data for extensions is missing for Firefox (FF) 26 and later (after just upgrading to FF 27.0b2 yesterday). Under FF 25.0.1, CC's Tools->Startup->Firefox tab was in complete agreement with FF's Tools->Add-ons ("about:addons"), showing 4 extensions (3 enabled, 1 disabled) and 17 plugins (15 enabled, 2 disabled). After removing FF 25.0.1 including profile data, doing a clean install of FF 26.0 including reinstallation of all extensions and plugins, with NO changes in extensions/plugins from FF 25.0.1, FF's "about:addons" information stayed exactly the same, however CC's Startup->Firefox tab information was no longer in agreement. The tab's plugin information for the 17 plugins was in total agreement with FF. However, the tab had NO extension information for the 4 installed extensions. After doing a little searching at bugzilla.mozilla.org, I discovered that FF's installed extension information migrated from FF profile file "extensions.sqlite" to "extensions.json" in FF 26 by the following bug/feature requests. Likewise, FF's installed theme information (which appears under the "Appearance" tab of "about:addons") migrated from profile file "addons.sqlite" to "addons.json". http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=853388 http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=853389 So, if FF 26 was installed as an upgrade to FF 25, the obsolete "extensions.sqlite" profile file will still be there and CC's Tools->Startup->Firefox tab will show FF 25 (rather than FF 26) extension information from this file. However, if FF 26 was installed as a clean install, with FF 25 and profile data removed beforehand, as DazzyBox and I had done, then extension data will be completely missing from CC's Tools->Startup->Firefox tab. You can easily reproduce this problem, on a machine that merely upgraded from FF 25 to FF 26, by simply removing or renaming "extensions.sqlite" in the profile folder. So, both I and DazzyBox would appreciate it very much if you would modify CC to look for installed extension information in profile file "extensions.json", rather than "extensions.sqlite", for FF 26 and later. Thanks in advance!
  25. On my PC running Windows XP SP3, I just upgraded Firefox from 21.0 to 22.0b2 and found discrepancies as listed under CCleaner's (v4.01.4093) Tools->Startup->Firefox tab. Under Firefox 21.0, CCleaner's Tools->Startup->Firefox tab was in complete agreement with Firefox's "about:addons", showing 6 extensions (5 enabled, 1 disabled) and 18 plugins (16 enabled, 2 disabled). After upgrading to Firefox 22.0b2, with NO changes in extensions/plugins, Firefox's "about:addons" information stayed exactly the same, however CCleaner's Startup->Firefox tab information was no longer in agreement. The tab's extension information for the 6 extensions was in total agreement with Firefox. However, the tab's plugin information showed all 18 plugins, but ALL were disabled, rather than 16 enabled and just 2 disabled. I removed Firefox's "pluginreg.dat" file from Firefox's profile directory, forcing Firefox to rebuild it on next invocation. Firefox's "about:addons" remained unchanged after reinvoking Firefox, however CCleaner's Startup->Firefox tab plugin information still showed all 18 plugins as being disabled. It looks like something changed in Firefox 22 to cause these discrepancies and I would appreciate your investigation into this matter and await an update of CCleaner to resolve this problem. Thanks in advance!
