I recently had the hard drive in my notebook replaced - same make, same capacity, just a later model. The were both HGST (Hitachi), but the new model number is HTS727575A9E364 (750.1 GB).
Although Speccy shows all the temperatures, after the drive was replaced, Defraggler does not report the drive temperature.

When Piriform's products are installed, they only register the first two segments of their version number in the registry.
For example if the version number is x.yy.zzzz, then you only see x.yy in the "CCleaner Uninstall" option as well as in Windows Uninstall.
Why don't you register the entire version number of your products being installed.

My boot drive (C drive is 100 GB). No personal files stored on this drive - only system and program files, etc.
Defraggler aborts, when defragging this partition. I even run Windows Defragmenter first, and invariably Defraggler will abort.
Any ideas, or suggestion. Defragmentation might be a few 100 or few thousand files - approx 5% max fragmentation. Sometimes only a few files.
If a file is open, should'nt Defraggler just skip the open files and move on to the rest and complete/

Run Windows Defragmenter first.
Then analyze the drive in Defraggler, and then proceed to defrag only fragmented files in Defraggler.
I have seen that this approach works best.

To do a fair comparison, you cannot use Defraggler regular defragmentation procedure. Just defragment for the file list. Yes, I am aware DF could include a "fast fill feature" for defragmenting free space; one that works. On the other hand, many people are also aware DF speed isn't the best of the batch, specially when compared to other defragmenters out there. However, I still love DF.
As I work with Defraggler more and more, I really appreciate the ability to defrag individual files, and the speed associated with this feature.

But that button is there. The first square to the left ot the filename column. Just tick or untick it.

Defrag from the filelist. Free space consolidation is what is taking that much to finish. I do not use regular defrag just for that. Any new gaps created and DF will shuffle all data all around.
Would be nice to have two buttons on the "Files" tab dialog: "Select All" and "Deselect All"

Speed of Defraggler vs Speed of MS Defragmenter
Environment: MS Win-7 Prof x64, I5-3210M, 2.5GHz, 3MB L3, 8GB 1333 DDR3, 750GB 7200 RPM HD, 2GB Dedicated GDDR3, AMD Radeon HD 7650M.
Goal: Fragment Boot Drive - C: (100GB - Used 37.6GB, Free 62.36GB)
Defraggler:
1. Started Defraggler at 11:55 pm, Stats:
1116 Fragmented Files, 4166 Fragments, 1% Fragmented, 3% Completed, Time-to-complete: > 1Day
2. Status at 7:15 am (next morning), Stats:
1065 Fragmented Files, 3902 Fragments, 1% Fragmented, 4% Completed, Time-to-complete: > 1Day
Elapsed Time: 7 Hours, 20 Minutes
After Stopping Defraggler, could not launch Control Panel > MS Defragment Hard Drive;
Shut Down Notebook, Force Stopped Win-7 x64.
MS Defragment Hard Drive:
Ran MS Defragment Hard Drive - 8 passes of Relocating, Consolidating, Defragmenting
Ending Stats: 10 Fragmented Files, 56 Fragments, 0% Fragmentation
Elapsed Time 8 minutes, 58 Seconds
Defraggler Again:
1. Selected 8 of the 10 Files, Defragged the Selected Files
Ending Stats: 2 Fragmented Files, 29 Fragments, 0% Fragmentation
(Files not Fragmented: Safeboot.fs and Safeboot.rsv)
Conclusion:
1. Defraggler has a long way to go, before being a really powerful and useful tool
Recommendation:
1. These performance issues have to be addressed by Piriform,
2. Run MS Defragment Hard Drive first, follow up with Defraggler to finish up.
Have used Disk-keeper before on my XP Notebook, need to upgrade and do a comparison for the Users of Defraggler.

Defraggler displays the hard-drive temperature.
All hard-drives have a temp sensor.
Can the hard-drive temperature be added to Speccy's Summary screen, and its Hard-Drive screen.

I have the following hard drive: 699GB Hitachi HTS727575A9E364 (SATA)
Speccy is reporting the drive temp on my other notebook which has a Fujitsu hard drive.

While Defraggler is running, I keep hearing noises from my CD/DVD drive as it is being accessed by Defraggler.
This is a notebook, so I hear the noise. Desktop Users may not hear it if the PC is under the desk, or based on the level of ambient noise.
Running the latest version v211.560, under Win-7-x64.

1. Discussing my D drive (data only); no system files except my relocated paging file (not on C drive)
2. The drive was defragged the night before last - 0 fragmented files, 0 fragments, 0% fragmentation
3. Added about a dozen files yesterday, and started defragmentation last night
4. The defragmentation process ran for more than 2 hours last night, and I stopped it.
5. Started again this morning, and kept running for more than 2 hours, and I stopped it again - stuck at 41%, 4 fragmented files, 8 fragments, (also started at 4 fragmented files, 8 fragments).
6. Look at the attached screenshot.
7. Instead of just defragging the fragmented files in the blocks that are fragmented (or) fragmented (low occupancy), the program is starting at the beginning, and attempting to defrag all the blocks - even the ones that are not fragmented, and also is trying to defrag the page file.
8. This is evident as you sit and watch the blocks being read (yellow colored block) moving across the blocks, and the file that is being worked on at any given moment - on the Status tab.
Need to having the following fixed:
1. The Paging file needs to be included in the Settings > Options > Advanced > Exclude (in addition to the Restore Point and Hibernation Files) in the "Custom Fragmentation Settings" - Exclude, (OR) excluded by default.
2. If the Analysis already knows the following:
o Block not fragmented,
o Files fragmented (at the end of the blocks)
o Fragmented Blocks,
then why is the defragmentation process starting at the beginning, and spinning its wheels on blocks not fragmented, and the page file?
Is something wrong with the logic here?
The fragmentation time started at 5+ hours, and then gradually dropped down to 1 minute and stayed there for more than 2+ Hours (both times) when I had to stop the process.
This is certainly a serious bug that prevents one from running the defragmentation process on a schedule (or not) every day or every night !!! The drive is not even 10% full.
System Specs: Win-7-Prof x64, Intel I5 (3rd Gen), 2.8 GHz, 8 GB RAM, 2 GB Graphics RAM, 750 GB SATA 7200 rpm drive

You may call it a wish-list or suggestion, but in my opinion I think it is bug.
What is the point in having a "Files" tab, when it shows files that have already been defragmented?

I have a HP Probook 4441s with 2GB of dedicated Graphics RAM.
But Speccy reports that I have both the AMD HD 7650M and an Intel HD 4000.
Speccy reports that each of the Drivers has 4294965248 MB of graphics RAM (see attached image).

I have a similar problem with my HP Probook - wrong memory being reported, but the driver versions are correct...Check my post and the image that I have posted.

I am running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, on a HP Probook with a 750 GB hard drive. Boot partition, drive C is 100 GB, and remaining space is devoted to drive D.
Defraggler is unable to defrag the Safeboot.fs file at the root of C, and the file size is 41,024 KB.
Even boot time defrag is unable to do so, as this file is not on the list of files to be defragged at boot time.

1. After a defragmentation run, I still have fragmented files, a non-zero fragments count; but the fragmentation percentage is 0%.
2. This does not compute.
3. What is the logic behind displaying 0% Fragmentation, when the other two numbers indicate otherwise.
4. The logic for displaying 0% Fragmentation should be explained somewhere;
5. Or better still it should display "<1%" if for some technical reason 0% fragmentation is not achievable (and the reason put as a message for the user.
6. Happens on my boot-drive/system partition (C:).

1. The 'Files" tab is supposed to show the list of fragmented files;
2. Instead it even shows files that have been defragmented, and have only ONE fragment (the entire file);
3. This happens while defragmentation is in process;
4. The file list does not clear even after the fragmentation is completed with 0 fragmentated files, and 0% fragmentation.
5. The only way to refresh the list is to Analyze the disk again, and check the "Files" tab.

I am a software developer, and have been for more than 40+ years.
Love your products - All 4 of them as of today.
Please lose the last 4 digits of your version number control that you publicly display, and keep it for for internal purposes only.
It is confusing. Why would you release Product V 4.xx.yyyy and then release Product V 4.xx,yyzz.
The crazy part is that Windows (+other utilities) only show the version as Product V 4.xx, as the remaining 4 digits do not get registered in the "REGISTRY".
Who are you trying to CONFUSE?
Get a better management of your version control.
