  1. Yes, I've stuck with 10.50 because changing the cookie setting has fixed my Gmail issue (which was my only problem). Good luck getting it straightened out. 10.50 seems like the best version of Opera yet (I love the minimalist interface).
  2. It didn't work for me at first either. Then I restarted Opera, and the change took effect. I'm not sure why restarting is necessary with that type of change, but apparently it is.
  3. That worked Dennis, thanks! The nice thing is you can edit Google's "site preferences" so the change only applies to google.com, while every other site still uses the "only accept cookies from the site I visit" option.
  4. Thanks abu. That was a long time between updates.
  5. Hmm interesting. I've actually never had any problems at all with Opera until now. In fact, I'm really impressed by this version and all sites work great on it, except Gmail. I've opened a thread on the Opera support forums, so hopefully a solution will arise soon.
  6. I'm having terrible results so far. About half the sites I try to visit won't load. For example, when trying to load Gmail, it gets stuck in an endless cycle of "sending request to" and "completed request to", then "send" and then "completed", and that goes on and on indefinitely. On other sites it gets stuck on something about DNS server and cookies (even though cookies are enabled). When I can only visit about half the sites I try to, that's a pretty poor product put out by Opera.
  7. The title says it all. http://twitter.com/opera/status/9864414767
  8. I had considered suing you, but I'll let you get away with it just this once.
  9. You have? If memory serves, it's exactly the way I worded it.
  10. Ah thanks, I didn't see that thread. This can be deleted.
  11. For the first time with CCleaner, the installer in 2.29 requested permission from my firewall to connect to the internet. This happened after the "checking system info" (or similar) stage of installation. I've never had CCleaner "phone home" before so this is a little concerning. Does anyone have any insight on why this is?
  12. I got an auto-update message when booting my computer, so I just hit OK and let it do it's thing.
  13. I did all that, and it worked great with SRWare Iron 3.5 (or whatever the previous version was), but now with version 4.0, it's not working. It does not appear under the applications tab.
  14. Very cool! I can't wait to try it.
  15. It doesn't cause any significant slowdown on mine, but apparently it does on some (like yours). However, the file is not included with CCleaner and is only available by digging through the Piriform forums. Because of that, I don't see the harm in making it available to users to choose to take the time to let those additional items be cleaned.
  16. That has not been true in my experience at all. Even on my very old laptop (K6-2 333 MHz, 160MB RAM, Windows 2000), CCleaner performs just fine...almost as fast as on my new laptop. Because of that, I don't see any need to remove the download link for that file. Fortunately, I kept the latest version of the file and am now using it with CCleaner 2.28. Since even on the slowest of slow computers CCleaner's performance is speedy, is there any chance of this file being brought back?
  17. If Piriform really wanted me to view their ads, I might consider it. This would be the ONLY site though. I use both the MVPS and hpHosts Windows hosts files, and Fanboy's AdBlock list for Opera, and see almost no ads at all anywhere on the net...period. There's ads everywhere you turn in the world...on TV, the radio, on my digital cable on-screen guide, on billboards on the freeway, even on my church's bulletin. If I can do something to block ads on the internet, I'm going to do it.
  18. Fanboy's AdBlock List updated 01-14-10.
  19. Both MVPS and hpHosts updated today, 01-12-10.
  20. Even if the only browser I use is Opera? It appears that SG's primary method of protection is preventing browser hi-jacks, but has Opera ever actually been hi-jacked? It seems as if SG is only really useful if you use Internet Explorer.
  21. First of all, don't use Chrome or Chromium. SRWare Iron is better in every respect. It has none of the privacy concerns and uses the latest version of WebKit. Read this thread for instructions on how to clean Iron.
  22. There definitely isn't, at least not built-in. I was hoping there was some third-party software that would make it possible on 2000, but it looks like I'm outa luck.
  23. Thanks, but I had found similar procedures from a Google search. That's different than a restore point, as that utility simply backs up files and therefore takes up a LOT of space. I'm looking for something small, fast, and simple like XP/Vista/7 system restore points, which can be created quickly and easily.
  24. I would like to make a system restore point on my Windows 2000 computer, and am wondering if there is any third-party software capable of doing that. I read through this thread by Rorschach, but the software recommended there only works on XP. If anyone can recommend something, that'd be great!
