Thanks nodles. I tried that newer version of Recuva too. I am on VISTA 32 Maybe running the scan with "deep scan" not checked would get me a better result? Would Recuva's tech support be of more help?

I'm dissapointed that Esteban has not gotten an answer. I am having a very similar problem. "not enough memory" My hard drive had an accidental re-format. I was able to recover some files with another inferior program, so I know that they are still there... Any tips on using Recuva? It seems like its just what I need. - Windows VISTA - Recuva portable 1.38 (I think) - 3 gig of ram running almost nothing but recuva - The size of the drive I want to recover is 500 gig. Except for the windows reinstall that deleted everything, nothing is on it.
