Just razzin ya dude.
I do the same. Auto Updates have always been off for my pc. That's how i never got that stupid WGA Notification stuff. I even have it down to the rough time it occurs.
Ive got mine set to OFF too + notify me also UNinstalled WGA - maybe NOT completely - found part of it in Manage Add Ons list + disabled it
hey - thanx for tips on updates = I'll try that too

Just download the free tool from the link below, run the program and reboot pc. WGA Notify will be gone. Dont forget to stop automatic update from re installing though

PeerGuardian describes the link you provided as "ServerBeach: Emule Servers and Kaaza Fakes". I downloaded the CCleaner program from this link: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/, and chose the latest version.

looks like I dont need to Uninstall since my Windows XP is legal - it came pre-loaded on my eMachine
it appears Hazelnut wuz being a bit drastic in the title
after reading all these posts it could say
Download this or yur ILLEGAL copy of Windows can put yur PC at risk by WGA

Hello tornadox
I do not believe that CCleaner has that ability, but you can refer to this thread which might provide you with what you are looking for RemoveWGA 1.1.
Let me know if that is what you're looking for.
Microsoft is getting sued in California for WGA -
Yes, I have my Automatic Updates settings set to "Notify me of updates but dont download and install them".
I would also like to review the updates before they are downloaded and installed, I dont want it to be able to install anything without my explicit confirmation and approval.
Some may be pretty fine that WGA sends out some information, and think it dont matter if it sound graphics card and sound card, but I rather see it not send any data.
CCleaner has an an Uninstall section, and then some WGA thing can be uninstalled.
Perhaps Microsoft wants to intimate people and get them a little worried and push them into buying a legit copy if they dont own one but I dont think they dare to push the kill switch because it would annoy alot of people which may go looking for alternatives.
Ive tried using that + the Uninstaller can NOT be found
wher is it ?

so which boxes did you UNcheck before deleting or (run cleaner) ?

I disagree with this statement. I am not dumb nor an idiot. I was careful to check and recheck everything before I ran ccleaner and fixed issues, now I have two computers that can't run MSN Messenger. My third one I did not install ccleaner on and it is working fine. Now I am trying to undo everything that ccleaner did with no success. I am going to have to try another restore point at a time before I heard of ccleaner and see if that fixes the issues that seem insurmountable...I have little hope that it will.
didn't need that info anyway
