  1. Back in the dim and distant past - when I started using AT MFM type PATA disk driver I remember a product by a "Mr Steve Gibson" called "Spinrite" that used to do all sorts of "magical things" to the low-level formatting (physical arrangement of data on hard disk drive surface) - I suspect however that a lot of the details that earlier posters worry about i.e. optimising it so that the time taken for the disk heads to physically reach the "next" sector is just right for the system to be ready to "read" that sector is now "automagically" handled by low-level system/hardware stuff - the measurements that the disk benchmarking provides are likely coming from those processes anyhow!
  2. Well the other tabs ARE the correct background colour behind the text items so there is something different about the particular text on THAT tab...
  3. I've been using Defraggler and CCleaner for a couple of months and have been impressed with the quality of the product and the dedication to fixing problems that the authors have displayed - well done. Given the cost of this product, the results are fantastic. I originally was looking for a defragmenter because I wanted to clear up some space for a Linux installation and I went through several products before settling on this one... Anyway my point is just a niggle and I think related to my use of AlienGUI to replace the normal Windows XP desktop with an alternative GUI style, I do not believe I have tweaked any of the Display colour setting and my XP installation is fully up to date. On the Disk Heath tab ONLY the background colour of the normal text does not match that used for the backgound of the rest of the panel - can the software be checked to see if it is using the right colour for that bit of the display. I can show the difference in the two images below:
