Parvez That would be great in My opinion , but cable is not available to all people, I,m out in the boonies & am lucky to have phone lines & I think Mike Might be in the same boat, & Andavari, Yes there was no charge for what They did because it was theyre box If it would have been a problem out of the box It gets expensive real quick, Plus for some reason when they test the lines They only can test up to the box They Say, Anyway It may not be Mikes problem but it solved mine, & Your also correct about installing theyre softwate, it sucks, But In My case I very few options, & What online dialup service can You get without theyre software I,m ready to switch . As I said I am thinking of People pc but i also have to install theyre disk it also comes with norton which i despise, Are there any other options You know of. I live in Kansas Usa, Thanks Cowboy

Mike I also have net zero, it also came with a norton disk also which i finally was able to uninstall because it was a netzero version & both are bundled with malware, Mainly tracking cookies, not necesarily dangerous but a major pain, Until a day or 2 ago I also got the same error message, My problem was My phone line Awhile back I completely rewired it , It got better for awhile. Then all of a sudden I couldn,t even get online . I took My phone out & plugged it into the box on the outside of the house, in the lower portion of the box it says customer accsess , unplug the black plug , plug Your phone in & dial 1 & listen for even the smallest amount of static, If You have any at all The phone Co needs to replace that box, That Completely fixed My problem , Since then I,ve been online for 36 hours & NO disconnects, Not sure if that helps or not, But My inside phone had no static So thats what was suggested to Me, It,s worth a try, As far as people pc I also was going to get it But at the time I had a pirated version of windows with sp1, & You have to have sp2, Which I now have So I will soon switch over & let You know how it works, Good luck, Cowboy

OK Djlizard, Yes I ran hd tune Everything checks fine, also I ran chkdsk C:/R also Ok...To anwser Your Questions, bsod, said an error has been discovered windows and is shutdown to protect Your computer from any damage You must install a legal version of windows to reboot, I,m very sorry If You dont beleive me & I,m certainly not trying to give false info or waste anyones time, But thats what it said, no matter how rediculous it sounds , also when I went to the website for hdtune it was blocked from My av software , but I bypassed that & downloaded it, Thanks Cowboy

Djlizard, I cant help it if You dont beleive Me, & I,m not positive thats how it was worded exactly because I had very little time to read it. but the warning came up in a seperate window with the window flag in the center in very large size, I have never seen it before, But the bsod did say Windows is closed to protect Your computer from any harm & You must install a legal copy of windows to reboot, I had 3 weeks to read that, Cowboy

I had seen a lot of topics on this, & want to let everyone know it does exist, As everyone probably remembers I was running a pirated version of Windows ( not by choice ) & I finnally got a Warning message from Microsoft saying You are running an illegal version of windows & It will now shut down No harm will come to Your computer but to reboot you must install a legal copy & register it with Microsoft , 30 seconds later I got the blue screen of death ....Stop unmountable boot volume code.OX000000ED. OX80EE7E30, I,m not sure if this has happened with anyone else or not, I Bought windows home XP from wallmart for $199.00 & installed it, registered it and all is fine BUT I lost all of My Registrations & updates for all of My Virus & Spyware software, The only problem I have now is When running some scans the puter freezes up, But will reboot fine, is this normal or might I still have problems ? it mainly does it when running Adware Se plus scans, I will run a high jack log & let the experts look at it. but i,m just curious, & Yes I could have bought it cheaper online but I had No access to any other puter, Thanks for any input, Cowboy

Bujar I,m only responding to this because I had a similar problem,& I was infected with a dialer which calls anywhere and everywhere to run up a huge phonebill, It might not be ,but to be on the safe side I would follow the instructions about high jack This, & post a log in the appropriate thread & let the experts look at it, The only way I could disconnect when I had it was to manually unplug the phoneline,Dont take a chance, Cowboy

Ok I,LL Try again,I just tryed to post from My FF browser & It just went blank ,so now I,m doing it from IE,,I have netzero high speed dialup IPS , it has a little speedometer that shows Me when the high speed works, It NO longer works with FF, since yesterday, I have not changed anything at all , but was surfing some sites of wildlife for reference pics & it takes forever to load the pages & is now not even working right to access this site, any Ideas, Thanks for any help, Cowboy

Thanks again mps,,,I have it set as default & My homepage, I click on My netzero IP to get online & it automaticly goes to IE, kind of a pain I then close that browser & clickon FF icon on the desk top then open My mail from there, I see it says how do you want FF to connect to the internet But I,m not sure what to ,Or how to set it, I,m very nervous of how things are connected because several months ago when i was infected I had a dialer that went to some game site I never went to ,and had a huge phone bill, of which I,m still fighting, Thanks again,Cowboy

I,m sorry if I,m asking You,all to repeat something, but i did a search & couldn,t find My answers, I just wonder why firefox is so much better & if I didn,t like it can I still use IE or do I need to get rid of it or disable it, I have no problems with IE, but if firefox doesn,t slow the computer or effect as far as using to much space or add many more running processes I would like to try it, also how big of a download is it & what is the most secure site to download it from, & if I dont like it is it as hard as somethings to uninstall,,Thanks for your advise in advance, Cowboy

Hey Mike, as far as i,m concerned with netzero it,s all bad, but I dont have any choice right now, I cant remember exactly what it was that i got rid off, but I beleive some of them had (united online) & or (nz) (provider list),,I think All I know after I deleted them I had to reinstall netzero,,Netzero actually installs its version of the about blank virus,,,allthough not dangerous its full of tracking cookies,,,I tried to switch to people pc, But you have to have sp2 for it to run right,,so untill I,m legal I,m stuck with, getting kicked off every 2 hours to listen to there ads,,,Oh well,,Just be carefull what You get rid of They have stuff buried in all kinds of places, Cowboy

gtbase, just be carefull I found 5 items in there & I didn,t recognise & deleted them,Later I found out they were a bundle for My Internet provider, I had no problems I just had to reinstall the disk, But i have netzero & theyre perty shady anyway, Just wait for someone that knows for sure,Cowboy

For My stupid questions,,,OK is there a difference between wether it says office on it or not,My Wife needs that version because it is the only one She can tie into Her work puters from here & Her laptop when She,s on the ship, (She works for a major cruise line) also because it has exel, I guess A Lady She works withs husband is the one that built Our comuter, He,s very seldom in town & i never can catch Him Or I would ask Him, also is all i need is the disk & the key for $113.95 OR do I need the Retail version which is just over $200 I think,& what problems might I have installing it ? will I have to start from scratch & unninstall what I have ? The only 2 disks I got with the puter are a DOS disk, (Which I have no clue what its for) & a driver resource diagnostic disk, No book , no instructions, Nothing else,,,My puter works great now , but everyones got Me spooked & I cant afford for it to crash, Once again thanks for any input & all Your help, Cowboy

I,m sorry but I have to disagree,,,It might have USED to be that way,,,& like most others You get free it may still be,,but i bought mine,& since I got rid of norton and all that other free stuff that REALLY does what You say,,I have no problems & it hasn,t found anything,,,It keeps Me from going to any dangerous sites, & stops ALL tracking cookies before they have a chance to get into the system,,I have 8 other Boughten products the the Spyware docter 3.8 STOREBOUGHT, not free version,,Is all I run other than My firewall,,For My main protection, if i,m not mistaken its still listed in the top 3 softwares if not #1,,,& no I have nothing to do with them,,And aint pushing the product,,its just My opinion, All I,m saying is give it a chance, I,ve done a lot of reasearch being a newbie to this, & the #1 problem is norton & symantic products, when I had it The only time it found anything was when I was offline & running some of My other scans, talk about false positives,,Once again, I,m not trying to step on anyones toes, And I appreciate all of You help, just expressing My opinion,,after 8 months & alot of help , I have a completely clean computer, And most of the stuff I hadto fix was from freeware & online scanners, Just My 2 cents, & this is a great site, And cc cleaner is an excellant product, I run it everytime I get offline, Thanks for letting Me express My opinion,,,& I,ll eat My words if I get infected again & have to ask for help,,hehe,,,Sincerely Cowboy

Ok I downloaded it again,,it seemed like it downloaded correctly,,I guess I dont know what to do I extracted it but I cant find anyway to open it or does it even open,,I,m lost you never said what its supposed to do or how to use it,,,& Yes I DID have acro7 but I uninstalled it & tryed to delete anything because it or something with it was infected,,,these are the only remnants left,,,& I want them gone,,Thanks again Cowboy
