  1. Nevermind now. I skipped it looked elsewhere and found answer. Instead of trying to fix it I just updated it. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?familyid=61FC1C66-06F2-463C-82A2-CF20902FFAE0&displaylang=en Helped me greatly. Please pass this along to SP2 windows xp people that are missing MMC part of defragmenter. thanks anyhow.
  2. I did exactly as it said and backed up as it showed. I went to go defragment using windows defrangmenter that comes with my windows xp system. It did not work. I went to the back up in documents and did as was suppose to and still would not work, even after restarting. It tells me: MMC cannot open file C:\WINDOWSsystem32\dfrg.msc. This may be because the file does not exist, is not an MMC console, or was created by a later version of MMC. This may also be because you do not have sufficient access rights to the file. I am set as owner and am only profile on this computer. I have full rights to this computer and full access. Windows Xp Sp2. I will not be pleased or happy if I have to do another computer restore to an earlier point. Is there some way of fixing this without doing a restore? Please help me.
