  1. Not that CCleaner is competing but even the IObit Toolbox (which contains the IObit Uninstaller) is able to scan for leftover files, folders and registry entries that still remain after uninstalling a program. IObit Uninstaller also has a unique feature that would be great to see in a future CCleaner version: selection of multiple programs to uninstall.
  2. I already have/had Service Pack 1 installed...
  3. Is there an easy way to do this? I am running Win7 Home Premium (x64) I installed the custom theme (visual style) using CustoPack. I uninstalled it using the same program, which is supposed to undo all effects. That didn't work.
  4. Just yesterday, I went to run Windows Update on my laptop. I launched it using the preloaded link in the Start Menu and this is what I see: I am using a Genuine copy of Windows 7 Home Premium. My laptop is an HP TouchSmart. What is the solution to fixing this odd problem?
  5. Please add a command-line entry that will run Speccy in the background and autosave the system specifications as a snapshot and/or text file, then close the program. Would like it to work something like this command, which is used for ProduKey: mkdir "%COMPUTERNAME%" produkey.exe /stext "%COMPUTERNAME%\Keys.txt"
  6. Thank you for the response. I will proceed by requesting this feature in the Speccy - Suggestions section of the forum.
  7. For those that don't know... I would recommend giving it a try. Simply uninstalling the program will remove all restrictions set in place by the app.
  8. Would you recommend using PeerBlock (previously PeerGuardian) as a good way to provide the same type of active protection as previously mentioned programs?
  9. Does Spybot have an "undo" feature so that you can de-immunize a computer?
  10. What would be the command-line entry to run Speccy and save the system specifications as both a snapshot and text file?
  11. CCleaner is not made for the purpose of removing and/or preventing malware. However, using a system cleaning utility such as CCleaner can help protect your security by deleting browser cookies, cache, history, etc. That being said, I have to confess that I had no idea where to post this. I did not see a General Suggestions section of the forum. I did see the blog update, posted on the 12th of January, and he hints at two new products that are being developed. I can only hope that one (if not both) of them will be related to malware removal and/or prevention.
  12. I'm not entirely sure if this is the correct section of the forum to be posting this, but it seems appropriate. I would like to see an immunization feature, either built-in to CCleaner as an additional feature or as a completely new program. Everyone has heard of Spybot Search & Destroy. It has an immunization feature which will help protect the computer from future infections by "vaccinating" system files and various browser aspects. There is also a program called SpywareBlaster and it performs the same function. The reason I am suggesting this is not because I dislike the aforementioned programs, but rather because SpywareBlaster has not seen any new definition updates in quite some time and Spybot S&D is a hassle to launch, update and immunize (considering the fact that the program is made for the specific purpose of removing malware)
  13. Any chance that the developers will add the ability to run registry cleaning options using command-line switches?
  14. How would I create a script that will run ccleaner.exe (or ccleaner64.exe) and run the file cleaner? I know it is not recommended but I am confident in my ability to repair registry issues so I would also like the script to run the registry cleaner several times until there are no errors found.
