  1. I just tried an experiment with Wiffies puter. She is running Windows XP Pro and IE. NO K-meleon. AT Startup Ccleaner ran in about 3+ seconds. I started using K-meleon because Firefox became so bad that I couldn't stand it any more. Hate to see Ccleaner having anything to do with Firefox. So IMHO it must be the combination of K-meleon and Ccleaner that is causing the problem...
  2. Noted - will try to curb my usage. Still would like to know the progress on V 3.03.1366. Is it me and my Puter mix or is there a conflict between my setup and Ccleaner?
  3. Thanks for the responses. Yesterday I loaded a previous version of Ccleaner V 3.02.1343. At startup it ran about 3 seconds. See my above posts for how long the latest version ran. I run Ccleaner about 40,000 times a day.
  4. Thanks for the help. The problem didn't exist in the previous version of Ccleaner. It was speedy at startup. I use it there to clean all the Microsoft junk.
  5. Thank you for responding Andavari. I forgot all about the slim version. The slim version still takes about 33+ seconds to finish at startup. The bigger version last ime I tried it took 50+ seconds. The web site for the slim version is fine. Maybe I need to go back to the previous slim version. Thankd
  6. 1st let me thank you for Ccleaner and Defraggler. I am running Vista Business and my wife is running XP Pro. I am running K-meleon and my wife is running IE. I have Ccleaner set to run at startup on Vista and the new version is taking about 50+ seconds to run. The previous version didn't take nearly as long. Just info but would like to know why if possible. On my wifes puter either I don't have Ccleaner set to run at startup or it is working ok on her puter. If you need more info let me know and I will try to supply it. Just as a side but the download site is getting harder to find how to download Ccleaner with all the other interference. Thank you
  7. I think you are wrong Hazelnut. I tried to get past the Google install and was unable to do it. Maybe a site bug.
  8. I have been a fan of Ccleaner for years and a supporter. Now you are getting to big for your britches like Firefox and others have done. You are trying to cram the Google Web Browser down my throat. I use K-meleon and would like to continue using it. I am in control of my computer and I don't like any company trying to force me to do something I do not wish to do. I guess I will have to start looking for a replacement for Ccleaner or do it by hand like I used to do. Pity....
  9. Somebody did a very nice job on Speccy. Some suggestions if possible. What about Connected printers, modems, external HDs etc. Thanks
  10. Thank you Hazelnut. I think you are right. It's a TB problem causing it in PCLinuxOS.
  11. Many thanks for Ccleaner and your other products. I get your update messages through Thunderbird. When trying to update Ccleaner while in Thunderbird, I got the following message: "error showing url: operation not supported". I have no idea whether this is a TB or Ccleaner error. Thought you would want to know.
  12. Thank you for replying, You pointed me in the right direction. It seems that ESET is the culprit. So I will go to them for help
  13. Surely there must be someone who can help me with my problem.
  14. First let me thank you for CCleaner. It's much appreciated. I have a little problem at start up with CCleaner. I usually run CCleaner every time I start up Vista Windows Vista Business Service pack 2 All updates in effect Latest CCleaner What is happening: Startup Vista Eset smart Security kicks in and does its thing. I then dbl click on CCleaner and it just sits there doing nothing I then go into FireFox (as an example) and start to do something. Then CCleaner butts in to do its thing. I've been struggling with this problem for a very long time. Today I totally uninstalled CCleaner(using Control Panel) and had trouble deleting all of CCleaner out of the Puter. Had to go into Safe Mode to completely delete everything. Reinstalled CCleaner with CCleaner to run at startup. Went into CCleaner/Options/settings - put check in box - run CC when Puter starts Went into "msconfig" and system configuration/startup and CCleaner is there checked. None of this made any difference. I feel it is something in the Vista and my mix of programs causing the problem No error messages of any kind. Regards,
  15. Sorry to have bothered you. V. 2.22 is now working on Vista business. I have no idea why it didn't and is now working. I will now drop it as it would drive me crazy trying to find an explanation.
  16. Thank you for CCleaner. Today I had my very 1st problem with CCleaner. Running Vista Business 32 bit on a Dell. FireFox and Thunderbird. Eset SS. CCleaner V 2.21 worked fine. The install of CCleaner V 2.22 won't run to completion.
  17. Thanks for replying. He's running Windows XP home. What can I do to solve his problem?
  18. Thanks for any help. Thank you for the wonderful product Ccleaner. I'm trying to help an old gentleman with his Puter. He had an old version of Ccleaner and an expired version of Registry Mechanic on his puter. I updated Ccleaner to the latest with all the Registry goodies checked and uninstalled Registry Mechanic. I then ran Ccleaner and it ran fine. Question: He is still getting a "Rundll" error. Does Ccleaner do the same type of job on the registry as say RegCure? Should he have RegCure AND CCleaner with the Registry entries checked? If so what does the registry section of Ccleaner do? I'm kind of confused.
  19. I wonder if having Ccleaner NOT starting at StartUp could be the problem. It worked in the past. Still looking. -------------------------------------------------------
  20. Hi Augeas, I'm starting from the desktop Icon. Mines erratic. Sometimes instantly, sometimes very slow, sometimes after I go into something else. Tried turning off "UAC". That didn't make a difference. Went back to V2.19.900. Still the same problem. I went into Ccleaner and took all the checks out of Firefox. Don't think that made a difference. I'm very finicky about security, so I don't think it's a virus. I just installed PclinuxOS on another drive in a triple boot system. So I only use Vista when absolutely necessary. All email and most web browsing are done on Pclinuxos. I'm sure you guys will come up with something so I will just wait. Thanks
  21. Maybe I've answered my own questions. I uninstalled v2.19.901 and installed v2.19.900 and everything has cleared up. Just as soon as I say that when I go back something else will happen. Hope not. I guess something is wrong with V2.19.901. Thanks
  22. First let me thank you for a wonderful product. Having a little problem and it probably isn't Ccleaner but something else causing Ccleaner to start up very slow or not at all. I am running version V2.19.901. I just ran a scan of my puter with ESS and there were no infections. I tried uninstalling Ccleaner and reinstalling it. Still the same problem. Should/can I go back to the previous version and see if that clears up the problem? If so, how can I get the previous version? I also ran defraggler v1.10.143 and it was slow starting. Sorry to bother you all with this.
  23. Thanks Guys, I appreciate the prompt and useful info.
