  1. ESET has an option to scan for low-level threats such as bundled options in installers. You have to check the box for 'Potentially Unwanted Programs' before scanning. So the default is for ESET Online Scanner not to bother with them. Note Google Toolbar is not even possible to install on Firefox or Chrome. It might install on Internet Explorer if that is your default browser. This site scans using 68 different engines, ccsetup501.exe comes back clean. If read the link, it shows 1/68 for the 401-404 versions from the time of the post. http://www.herdprotect.com/ccsetup501.exe-205ea3a873c765ff2e0f78fb1834d6eb44c21bf3.aspx
  2. With Windows XP Pro SP3 and latest .Nets - no problems with Speccy on my 2005 Dell. With Windows XP Home SP3 and latest .Nets, on my 2003 Dell (BUT iPv6 Helper Service fails with Generic Host Process for Win32 Services error, so I have it off). "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program: C:\Program Files\Speccy\Speccy.exe This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information." Versions from at least Speccy v.8 on will display this at Hard Drive analysis. However, I can just drag the error message out of the way and view other results - real time Graphics Temp, CPU speed etc. If I run in Debug Mode, and only check Hard Drives, the log just shows link to Temp folder with very recent HPZIDS.log and speccycpuid.dll. Upon Speccy crash - when close the error window - receive DMP file. How do I open it?
  3. BAD LINK in #2. Same deal here with Speccy 1.10.248 installed on Windows XP Home SP3 with latest C++ 2005, 2008, 2010. Speccy 1.14 fails to even reach that before crashing.
