  1. That should please all you SRWare Iron users
  2. http://www.puransoftware.com/Puran-Defrag.html http://www.auslogics.com/en/software/disk-defrag If it's been a very long time since you last defragged your computer - if at all - it may take a while for these defrag programs to work, but they do a really neat job, esp the first one
  3. One wonders, even with the release of Windows 7 and new & updated applications, how many of you out there are still using the last version of CC which showed the full detail of what was cleaned, instead of the default summary we've been using ever since...
  4. I watched the movie on Tuesday night - talk about a load of cheese! I'll tell ya this much - the real end of the world won't be anything like a Hollywood movie, with John Cusack racing an earthquake through the streets of LA or Bruce Willis riding on and blowing up a comet or aliens blowing us to Kingdom Come, no sirree!! Right on!
  5. NO, I said Australian PC Authority and I MEANT Australian PC Authority, if I'd read PCPro I would've SAID PC Pro! And yeah guys, thanks for supporting the bit about CCleaner being a GREAT APPLICATION, NOT!
  6. Specifically, there's an article in the December issue of PC Authority entitled The Crapware Con - crapware being all the software that comes pre-installed on a computer bought from Acer, HP et al. There are three programs to clean up this crapware mentioned: TuneUp Utilities, Autoruns and CCleaner, and CCleaner gets the big thumbs up over the over two. I couldn't find an online link to that story, maybe someone smarter than me will come up trumps with that Pages 16-19, if anyone's interested
  7. No real helpful responses there... I have a 500gb harddrive that's around 95% free, so no biggie there
  8. Yeah, by drinking lots while he was cooking
  9. Running Windows 7... Ad-Aware Anniversary Edition 8.0.7... previously had no problems with this program on this OS... now Ad-Watch Live refuses to initialize itself... keep getting message to "restart computer to finalize installation of Ad-Watch Live"... restart doesn't help, and no documentation on the Lavasoft website... I come here hoping some very smart person will able to help me with this

    NoScript

I don't use that many Firefox extensions, just the ones which serve my immediate purposes, but from what I'd read about NoScript, I understood it to be an in-browser security guard of sorts - so I installed it... A zillion options, with a never-ending webpage of instructions?! Java & AdobeFlash disabled by default?! STUFF THAT JACK!!! It's now uninstalled. I do quite fine with what I already have, thanks very much
  11. CC does indeed work slower with Win 7 - for some reason, there's a 'cleaning browser history' box which pops up during the cleaning, and often it is still "cleaning" after the actual program has finished its work - the other program I use, Tracks Eraser Pro, has no probs.
  12. Download.com - 1.0.154.43 Filehippo - 1.2.133.37 MajorGeeks - 2.0.158.0 The latest Spybot S&D 1.6.2 has added support for Chrome, but it didn't pick up on my 2.0x version ????????????????????????????????????????
  13. I see your snow and I raise you a truly sunburnt country, of temperatures above 100F - whatever 40-44C equals
  14. That's actually old news now... by about one or two weeks!
  15. WMP12 sucks mega, I can tell you that much for free
  16. Anyone currently using it? Tried it out and given up in disgust? Think it's the best thing since XP? Waiting for the "official" public beta release later this month? Waiting for the official final release? Not going to bother, Win98SE is perfectly fine thanks very much?! It's not so bad
  17. What I like, from the previes I've seen, is that finally, somebody out there gets that some of us want 'Windows Explorer' permanently anchored on the Start Menu, instead of having to relocated it ourselves!!
  18. Roboform is groovy, IF you don't want to use it on browsers like IceWeasel, Safari (windows/mac), Kmeleon, Konqueror, Opera and ANY Linux browser! There are zillions of IE-based browsers it integrates with too. One of the "few" software programs I have paid for.
  19. I haven't looked at all five pages of this thread, so too bad if this is a re-post from Mozilla website (basically, it suggest to WAIT for an offical FF3 update-release)
  20. McAfee QuickClean - part of the many tools of the totally awesome McAfee VirusScan Plus (antivirus, antispyware, firewall) or similar McAfee products Deletes (amongst other things) all your older system restore points and sometimes the newer ones too, but she be good!!
  21. zipping program: Izarc covers all platforms
  22. The homepage now has coloured software icons 'n' such http://www.filehippo.com

    Mamutu!

A 30-day trial is better than nothing, in my opinion It does use up 20,340K of memory though, whatever that equates to in mb
