  1. Right now I don't have much space to work with (a 30 GB notebook HD and a 200 GB external) but I know if I had more space, I would definitely find things to fill it with. For example, I plan on one day ripping all of my DVDs onto my hard drive, so that I can watch them right off of it. Uncompressed, they are about 4+ GBs a movie, and I've got around 50 or so movies, so that's 200 GBs right there! And that isn't even including music. I encode my music as FLAC, so it is usually over 300 MBs per disk. So, if you think 3 albums per GB, and I have around 180 albums, that's another 60 GB. Also, I plan on encoding my library as 192k MP3 for compatiblity's sake, so that will tack on another 14.5 GB or so (assuming around 80 MBs per album). And then another 3 GB or so for the OS+updates and a dozen or so more GBs for apps... it adds up!
  2. There are a lot things we can't prove the existence of. Needless to say, evolution and "Big Bang" are two of them, but yet you continue to passionately believe in those silly, illogical ideas. Like I mentioned before, BOTH God and evolution can't be proven. So according to your comment above, that means that there is no need to prove the non-existence of either of them, so you are admitting that you feel the existence of God, as well as evolution, are false ideas. But I disagree. We believed in the existence of atoms far before we could prove them. If we had chosen to abandon atomic research because "there is no need to prove its non-existence" then think of all of the discoveries that would have been wasted! That is why it is better to accept something as potentially true until you can prove it otherwise. Every single discovery ever made was at one time unable to be proven. Evolution and God are both just as likely to be proven, but evolution is far more likely to be disproven. So until someone gives me some facts that speak up for evolution, I feel that I should go with the more logical and reasonable choice: God.
  3. Damn dude! That things a multimedia monster! I bet your framerates are through the roof!
  4. Your mouse settings could be improperly adjusted. To fix this: Click Start > Control Panel > Mouse to bring up your Mouse Properties. Click the Buttons tab at the top if it isn't already selected and adjust the Double-Click Speed slider. The slower you set it, the more responsive your left button should be. If that isn't the problem, than neighberaaron is probably right about it being worn out.
  5. lol! single-core 3200+?! wimp! lokoike says between clenched teeth, as he tries to hold back the tears looking at his 32-bit Athlon 2200+...
  6. LOL! pWned by me and zaph! rofl, lawl! *cough* DVI *cough*
  7. Oh really? When was that? Like I stated before, there is no way to disprove a God. No matter how silly the concept of a God may seem, it still can't be denied, because it can't be disproven. Evolution, on the other hand, is based totally on theoretical scientific happenings, so if any single element of evolution has been or ever is to be found false, that would totally destroy evolution as a theory. So even if the concept of evolution seems less strange than the concept of an almighty God, evolution will still always have more potential to be disproven than God does. Silly or not, those are the facts. And as far as religion goes, that isn't really what we're discussing right now anyway. Religion is basically just a lifestyle built around something (such as a God, a theory, a couch, etc.). So if you wanted, you could invent all sorts of rules and build a religion around the concept of evolution just as easily as you could a God. People don't believe that a religion created the world. The religion is simply what comes after the origin is discovered. Whether or not you choose to be a part of any religion is totally up to you, as it doesn't effect the world's origin any. Religion can't be "proven" or "disproven"; it is simply a way of life.
  8. Now don't you go encouraging him!
  9. You even think about doing "The Robot" and I'll break out my can of pepper spray!
  10. Hey! Us lefty's aren't sinister! Grrr! You know, us lefty's are the only ones in our right minds, snort, lawl, rofl!
  11. I bet Gene Simmons could do it. And as far as the tongue being the strongest muscle, I think they must mean the strongest muscle for its size. I highly doubt my tongue can bench more than my deltoids (although who knows, it just might surprise me ).
  12. Well, technically TwistedMetal is a mod too, but I haven't seen him for eons...
  13. I think that everyone who comes on here and helps someone out DOES get something in return: the satifaction of knowing that you made someone's life just a little bit better. No, getting someone's screen resolution adjusted won't solve world hunger or cure anemia, but it will make that person have a far more pleasant computing experience (which is more important than food anyway, right? ). And I think that just about everyone on here who has helped out others has also been helped as well. I would like to think that I have helped out a few people, and I know for a fact that I have been helped by others on numerous occasions! That's what's great about the CCleaner forum, or most forums for that matter: you have the opportunity to share what you know, as well as learn new things in the process. Not to mention this is one of the few places where I can spread the word about hufu without getting shot.
  14. I generally try to avoid these types of debates, but I do have one thing to say, and then I'll probably leave this topic alone: When it comes right down to it, both God and evolution could be considered illogical, at least to some extent. Evolution has yet to be proven, because no transitional creatures have been found. You won't find a half monkey/half human, and a creature of that nature would be necessary to prove evolution. And as far as proving God goes, needless to say, that hasn't been done either. But, even though evolution can at least be partially explained by science (although it still has plenty of flaws), theoretically, the existence of God is still more logical, because it can't be disproved. Think about it: evolution is totally dependent on the rules of science, so if it breaks even one of those rules, it is no longer valid as a theory. Evolution depends on an Earth that is millions, or perhaps billions of years old. I have read dozens of documents stating that the Earth is actually no where near this old (documents about the inaccuracies of carbon dating, the amount of dust on the moon, the current size of the sun, etc.). Whether or not these documents are true, I really can't say. But assuming at least some of them are, that would mean that there is potential that evolution is false. However, disproving God is basically impossible. After all, God is not based on science or earthly facts and figures; the existence of God is based totally on the belief that there is a being that can basically do whatever he wants, and since He makes the rules, he can have them be whatever He wishes. And if He makes the rules, there is no possible way that He can break them, which means there is no possible way that He can be disproven. No logical person could simply write the existence of a God off as fantasy. In closing, evolution will always have the potential to be disproven, but the existence of a God can never be disproven. It just isn't possible. So in all technicallity God is a whole lot more logical than evolution or big bang. And nobody can argue that.

    ouch

Wow, that blows! So, what exactly is being pepper sprayed and tasered supposed to teach you? Or is it just entertainment for your higher-ups?
  16. Si! @ kk56: You are the son of a motherless goat. And... um... DVI is the shiz. There, see? Not totally off topic.
  17. Thanks for that link, hazelnut! I'll have to check that out. @ Newhotness: I'm not sure if you use OpenOffice or MS Office, but if you use MS Office, its one redeeming quality is built-in scanning and OCR tools. Also, Adobe makes products that have OCR capabilities, but needless to say, they are very expensive, bloated, and slow. @ kk56: Very, very disturbing... bad dreams...

He doesn't love me. He made fun of my mother. But that's okay, cause one of these days when I break down and build myself a new computer, the first thing I'm gonna do is load up CS Source and kick his scrawny lil' kk56 @$$ off the map! Yeah, that's right, I said it! WTF is up now, foo?! Now if only I could figure out where the damn "shoot" button is...

LOL! That was excellent! I had to read that one to my friends.
  21. I finally finished up a computer for my buddy today that has an ATI x800GT chip and 256 MB of GDDR3 RAM, on a Sapphire PCB (not an AiW, but still a nice card). Spits out some purty pixels, that's for sure! Now if only it was mine...
  22. Well, I don't have an exact number yet, but I've heard it is in the ten thousands of writes. That seems like a lot, but when you compare that to around a million or so writes that some CD-RWs can take, it kinda pales in comparison. I'll have to research that and see just how long Flash ROM can endure.

How crazy is that?! My ISP is FUBAR as well! I have cable Internet from a company called Insight, and they are "upgrading" which means that my Internet has been off and on for 20 hours. Oh, and did I mention that they have no intentions of refunding me for 1+ days of broken Internet (they said the problem may persist for several more days)? Can someone explain to me how in the hell that is legal?! Stupid Insight... But yeah, Sniper, that little dancing icon dun cheered me up.
