  1. well you say its not ignored but prove to me anywhere where anyone has returned a real answer to all these suggestions. i keep seeing something what you said that it hasn't been implemented yet and they are not ignoring it. well prove that it is not ignored. I really would like to see it. don't pee on me and tell me its raining. that was the reason for me to research the suggestions thread AND because the user "ident" said that this was discussed every week which i couldn't believe and have proven it wasn't. YES i understand that product is free and i understand support is free. i would like reasons for ignoring this suggestion that's all. im a concerned supporter of the software and this is my last post on this forum (be happy) so you can ban me or do what you like as i really don't care but the bottom line is the product still forces a full install when there is merely a few kb of updates each time. and someone mentioned bandwidth costs? well how about making the software hold all settings of what is cleaned in a small file which only that file needs to be updated and not the whole program and release an update 12 times per year instead of 24 times? wouldn't that lower the bandwidth costs by like 500% AND maybe eliminate the need for yahoo toolbar? i personally believe the full installs are mainly for distribution of the toolbar because distribution of it would be impossible if only the config file is updated. i didn't wanna say this again but i did. toolbar installations generate money, well money that should be used to offset the cost of developing the product and distribution. but by greatly reducing the costs of distribution wouldn't that lower the hosting costs? very few people know the truth to this and i believe it when i write it here that this is the purpose of the frequent updates the toolbar. also any technician like myself that has ever worked on computers removing spyware and viruses knows that the word toolbar is associated with spyware and bloatware which ccleaner partly removes as a lot of spyware and viruses hide in the temp folders. also a lot of spyware and viruses get installed with the many toolbars out there and im not saying yahoo is a bad one but the word toolbar is in a way associated with this kind of crap and ccleaner is crap cleaner isn't it? kinda makes your mind go in circles here LOL. so shoving a toolbar into any software especially that the toolbar has nothing to do with the main purpose of the software is kinda foolish and in my opinion makes the software look untrustworthy and cheap (yes i know its my choice to use ccleaner or not). it really would be nice for everyone here especially the developers to be honest here but we don't live in a perfect world so we will have dishonesty. honest companies last longer than the ones trying to trick you into believing something fictitious as in my opinion here. well maybe a developer can justify the reason why is yahoo toolbar included and take under consideration my suggestions how to greatly reduce the cost of development and distribution of ccleaner. i haven't really seen too many details about it. anyway thank you for a mostly great software.
  2. im sorry but its not as often as you think. i just went back alomst 1 year and commented on each of the occurrences about the auto update. and im trying to get it noticed because its something important to not just me but many others. and im sure there are alot of people that are not on these forums that would want the auto update feature atleast avialable if people do want to do an auto update or not. it shoud be a choice instead of going to filehippo and then downloading and then settin gyour options and then finally do the update. would save alot of time especially for those with slower computers and internet speeds.
  3. utorrent auto updates and their size is very small and with 1 click. so do other programs out there and they do it without asking a whole lot of questions.
  4. im trying to get this somewhat of a convenience feature noticed as the many suggestions about this basic idea are ignored.
  5. another thread with no real answer for not letting installer update the software and remember current settings during install. but this one is partially helpful but still kinda ignored judging by the date of last post.
  6. another thread with no real answer for not letting installer update the software and remember current settings during install
  7. they seem to conveniently ignore this suggestion. as i have made a post about it also and i have read of others which noone here seems to care about. and i was told to search the forums as this question gets asked weekly. well i did search and its not weekly and if it really is weekly noone has mentioned the reasons why they wont make updating the software remember the choices.
  8. Can a mod move this thread into suggestions? Im sorry i made a mistake and put it in this section. thank you
  9. Thanks for the welcome. :-) how is what i have mentioned going to impact bandwidth? all it will do is impact the annoyance factor of the user. it will not make people download it more or less. it will just streamline the update of it. what will impact bandwidth and has been for a while now is unnecessarily releasing an update every week or 2. to me that is what impacts bandwidth and the costs associated with it. i don't know of any other software out there besides antivirus software that updates as often as the programs created by Piriform do. how many times in a month can defragler change? haven't file systems been the same for at least 5 years and probably at least last 10 years? why make the updates every few weeks when you can do the same and cut down bandwidth by doing them once a month. monthly updates will more than pay for themselves by the end of the year. nothing in ccleaner is that time critical that it needs to be released as often as it is now and the same goes for the other software Piriform offers. Unless!! the releases are purely to enable some novice users to install yahoo toolbar. i really hope that is not the case.
  10. noone has any thoughts about the above? it seems to me it would make the use of the program a bit more enjoyable when the updates would be very simple to do.
  11. ok since ccleaner gets a new version regularly why not make the install of new updated version quicker by automating it. for example when utorrent comes out with a new version all it takes is one click and the program is downloaded, installed and started with minimal user intervention (one click). of course if there are new features that need to be mentioned during setup then provide the full install. so why not make ccleaner install with 1 click? for example if ccleaner does not detect a previous version installed on the computer it then and only then should provide the user with the full installation options. but if it detects a version installed then it should take the previous settings and do a single click install and update (download new version, install it, start it). it seems that those every other week updates will be less of a headache. I personally think its the way of the future to do streamlined updates of software especially software requiring frequent updates.
