  1. I too bought CCleaner years ago as a lifetime license version, but I'm now being told I have to buy it again! Before that I was using it from 2008 and made two donations. One in 2008 for £10 and one in 2010 for £20. In 2013 I bought CCleaner Pro, which was advertised as a lifetime license. So even though I helped with beta testing, made two donations and bought the product (twice, another license for my sister), I'm being slapped in the face.
  2. Through my own stupid fault, I managed to break a RAID array that contained all of my photographs. I went to use the backup I keep of them, only to find a blank hard drive! Somehow I'd previously removed the backup; I still don't know why. Anyway, I hunted around and found a couple of 'professional' recovery tools that offered a free trial, as no way I was paying the expensive asking price before knowing if they would work. I tried both pieces of software, none of which found a single file on any of my hard drives. So I more or less gave up. After all, if these expensive programs didn't find anything, no other stuff would either. Yesterday I was updating CCleaner and spotted Recuva on the site. I thought I might as well give it a try, but I wasn't hopefull. To my surprise, it found images on three of my hard drives! The drive that had the backup on was more or less completely restored, along with loads of photographs from the other two drives. Every one of my photographs was back. So I basically would like to thank Piriform and the writers/developers for a brilliant program. (I'll be making another donation shortly) Thank You So Much.
