    damn Mcafee

The easiest way to to delete a service that is no longer needed is to use autoruns that can be downloaded autoruns here. If you have xp run it in an admin account. If you have vista or win7 right click and run as administrator. Then, click on the services tab and see if you can find the Mcafee service. Then just delete it. I used it to delete a service that a2 anti-malware free left behind when I uninstalled it.
  2. I created an image backup of my system disk with macrium and verified that the image was good. I created a BARTPE boot disk and then tested it. I got as far as selecting my partition and was surprised to find that Macrium showed unallocated disk space of 1.68 MB along with my main partition in the partition selection window under Disk 1 . I rebooted with Gparted and it did not find any unallocated space. Windows disk management did not find unallocated space either. Can someone explain why this occurs and should I include this unallocated space when I do a restore operation? I would also like to add that the computer runs Windows XP SP2. It has never been reformatted or repartitioned. Thank You
