  5. I dont use any driver updater. If your pc or laptop is from a manufacturer, use only drivers from manufacturer in the first line, An old wisdom - dont touch a running system. the only exclude for me is the graphic driver. Also i dont use driver from microsoft. The same thing as above but in green instead of red ;-)

    Windows 11 ?

so far for me... its a good choice to stay with w8.1 :-) the support ends at 10. january 2023 perhaps is w11 - or whats the name should be - nicer as the "real last windows" but i think this is not for free...
  8. yes, myie2 - i used it too at that time with w98 and ie5/ie6, because it gives the tab-function to "myie-internet-explorer" that the ie dont give. mx5 seems to use the chromium core 61 https://www.maxthon.com/mx5/changelog/
  9. perhaps you can take a look with ccleaner in your startup to save more RAM at XP-Boot: ccleaner -> tools -> windows and ccleaner -> tools -> scheduled tasks for example: i can see there some stuff that not have to be on at startup -> gimp.2.8.exe -> jusched.exe (i mean its java updater) - i think there is also a deactivator in java itself... in the XP-control panel -> java -> settings
  10. perhaps pics can more say 1. pic - settings 2. pic - smart cleaning 3. pic - updates 4. pic - privacy after untick this no ccleaner instance should be work in the background :-)
  11. i read that it is "word online" for free with an microsoft account like in windows 8 or 10/11 but in reduced version. for mac there is google docs but i dont know... softmaker is the same as libre or apache office i mean... for mac there is ms office 2019 standard for example... word perhaps for 40 €
  12. but in the end - the formats are not 100 % working with different formats in word and powerpoint it dont work proberly in libre or apache. also in excel there are limits
  13. I mean libre office brings more format- supports between ms word and free word But i have apache open office as second. Because the icons in the tab bar are near to the good old standard as ms it used

  16. ff v78.11.0 esr 1. june 21 Fixed Various stability, functionality, and security fixes
  17. ff v89.0 1. june 21 New Say hello to a fresh new Firefox, designed to get you where you want to go even faster. We’ve redesigned and modernized the core experience to be cleaner, more inviting, and easier to use. Beginning in 89, you’ll notice a number of changes, including: Simplified browser chrome and toolbar: Less frequently used items removed to focus on the most important navigation items. Clear, streamlined menus: Re-organized and prioritized menu content according to usage. Updated labels and removed iconography. Updated prompts: Infobars, panels, and modals have a cleaner design and clearer language. Inspired tab design: Floating tabs neatly contain information and surface cues when you need them, like visual indicators for audio controls. The rounded design of the active tab supports focus and signals the ability to easily move the tab as needed. Fewer interruptions: Reduced number of alerts and messages, so you can browse with fewer distractions. Cohesive, calmer visuals: Lighter iconography, a refined color palette, and more consistent styling throughout. This release also includes enhancements to our privacy offerings: We’ve enhanced the privacy of the Firefox Browser’s Private Browsing mode with Total Cookie Protection, which confines cookies to the site where they were created, preventing companies from using cookies to track your browsing across sites. This feature was originally launched in Firefox’s ETP Strict mode. For macOS users, we're introducing the elastic overscroll effect known from many other applications. A gentle bouncing animation will indicate that you reached the end of the page. In addition, we added support for smart zoom. Double-tap with two fingers on your trackpad, or with a single finger on your Magic Mouse, to zoom the content below your cursor into focus. Native context menus: Context menus on macOS are now native and support Dark Mode. Fixed Colors in Firefox on macOS will no longer be saturated on wide gamut displays, untagged images are properly treated as sRGB, and colors in images tagged as sRGB will now match CSS colors. In full screen mode on macOS, moving your mouse to the top of the screen will no longer hide your tabs behind the system menu bar. Also in full screen mode on macOS, it is now possible to hide the browser toolbars for a fully immersive full screen experience. This brings macOS in line with Windows and Linux. Various stability and security fixes. Changed Introducing a non-native implementation of web form controls, which delivers a new modern design and some improvements to page load performance. Watch for layout bugs in web pages that make assumptions about the dimensions or styling of form controls. The screenshots feature is available in the right-click context menu. You can also add a screenshots shortcut to your toolbar. Learn more. Enterprise Various bug fixes and new policies have been implemented in the latest version of Firefox. You can see more details in the Firefox for Enterprise 89 Release Notes. Developer Developer Information Better keyboard navigation for editable BoxModel properties in the Inspector panel Web Platform The Event Timing API is now supported. The CSS forced-colors media query is now supported.
  18. there are some services in windows to deactivate the updater of ms edge if you dont want it. also there you can deactivate the update stuff with ccleaner -> tools - startup - scheduled tasks
  19. i read of some phenomens like yours about w10 and ccleaner (standard) -> because of some other inbuild installer-links (i heard from avast av or ccleaner browser or what else) sometimes it is w10 and the other is the av installed on your pc that blocked the installation of standard-ccleaner have you tried the "slim" version? ccleaner/builds
  20. I repost one more time the ability of custom size of "ccleaner window" itself for a smaller window as actually is because the big icons/pics in health check. I mean the size of this pics can not be the standard for the size of ccleaner-main-window. Also the health check stuff (pics/graphics) can be autoSized on the choosed ccleaner mainwindow size or not? Actually the window fills a screen with 1024 x 708 more as it should for a small cleaning tool (sorry but its not a av or another important thing) for a monitor solution if 1024 x 768.
  21. If i remember me, the devs dont want because of the big graphics... in health check
  22. hello, i mean yes. for your (perhaps more as one) browsers you must uncheck some boxes -> for firefox, google chrome, ie (or edge) edge chromium: 1.) cookies 2.) saved form information 3.) saved passwords ie: 1.) cookies 2.) autocomplete formhistory 3.) saved passwords firefox: 1.) cookies 2.) saved form information 3.) saved passwords google chrome: -> like edge chromium put im not absolutly sure about this, perhaps some others may adding this or another point :-)
  23. if i think about your settings... -> i mean unter your circumstandes its all fine with this connections from your hdd to your pc about usb-connection and the downgrade from sata III to sata II.
  24. max. transfer mode is the available maximum of data-transfer of your device -> in this example 6 gb/s used transfer mode is - perhaps from "insufficient device driver support" or others (if your motherboard supports only sata II -> it could not use the max data-transfer from your connected device with faster interface of sata III <- the same plug connection, but slower speed) interface - connection standard between your motherboard and your device (in your case SATA -> about USB connected) older standard for hdds/cd-drives/dvd-drives was PATA in your case about USB -> perhaps its not the right driver installed or activated for USB 3 with faster speed - i mean if your usb connection work with USB 2 its not enought speed for SATA III (also the simple usb 3 is not enought speed!) usb 2 -> 0,48 Gbit/s usb 3 -> 4,8 Gbit/s (perhaps the installed driver corrected the real speed from 6 Gbit/s down to 3 Gbit/s because the lower speed of usb 3?!) usb 3.1 -> 10 Gbit/s <- this works only if the right hardware is yours and the right driver/controller is installed/activated usb 3.2 -> 20 Gbit/s usb 4.0 -> 40 Gbit/s -> like intels thunderbold 3 (take over/replacement) sata III -> 6,0 Gbit/s sata II -> 3.0 Gbit/s "xhci" controller its usb 3 - must be activated in your motherboard-bios. "ehci" controller its only usb 2 i mean
