  1. Depending upon where one lives in this big wide world we all do different family things together over the Festive season so how about suggesting some movie titles either just released or released in 2016 that you think all the family would enjoy together. However if there is a very old/years ago title you think qualifies suggest it also. I would like to start the ball rolling with a big recommendation for the Steven Spielberg Co Directed movie "The BFG" A Fantasy/Adventure - 1h 57min. "Ten-year-old Sophie is in for the adventure of a lifetime when she meets the Big Friendly Giant (Mark Rylance). Naturally scared at first, the young girl soon realizes that the 24-foot behemoth is actually quite gentle and charming. As their friendship grows, Sophie's presence attracts the unwanted attention of Bloodbottler, Fleshlumpeater and other giants. After traveling to London, Sophie and the BFG must convince Queen Victoria to help them get rid of all the bad giants once and for all."
  2. Found this one and couldn't resist dropping it onto my desktop...................I call it "fly like a bird".................you've gotta love Adobe Photoshop
  3. No doubt hazelnut Christmas is a special time for all to be there
  4. Some absolutely spectacular photography, my favorites would have to be "The Blue Trail Kingfisher Dive" and "The Stare of Death".
  5. 2 desktops this month DennisD..............therefore it's a "Pear" of them...................well I never..........
  6. Nice one hazelnut I found my 2016 Christmas Desktop: "Underworld Christmas"
  7. Many thanks for the heads up hazelnut...............thankfully it appears that my account has not been breached (fingers crossed)
  8. A great idea so here is my effort/story I also will own up to being a "petrol head" and a "Ute" lover.............a "pickup" to some folk, and mine was Red in colour. For those down under in Aus. it was a reasonably hot 1964 EH Ute followed by a similar coloured quick EH Panel Van. Which used to run mid 14 sec's over the quarter mile..............Ah those were the days which I can barely remember.
  9. Not many sleeps to go for those that celebrate Christmas and while we (I mean me) search for that "unique" Christmas or December desktop I submit the attached which I hope to change as we draw closer and closer towards the end of 2016...................or closer to the start of 2017.
  10. Due to the poor response last month with October desktops I thought it best to provide directions. So please enter folks and follow me with you your November Desktop.
  11. Certainly lighten up my day
  12. LTSB Is the Slowest Moving Branch of Windows 10 - From How-To Geek Microsoft never ceases to surprise me, so interested folk should read the following :http://www.howtogeek.com/273824/windows-10-without-the-cruft-windows-10-ltsb-explained/
  13. As we draw closer to December and the end of another year, for me October each year is special. Excuse me while I explain. The reason for me is that as a V8 motor racing tragic heralds several days of V8 motor racing at Mount Panorama, motor racing circuit Bathurst. Bathurst is a motor racing track located in the township of Bathurst, New South Wales Australia. It is best known as the home of the Bathurst 12 hour motor race, held each February, and the Bathurst 1000 motor race, held each October. The track is 6.213 km (4 mi) long, and is technically a street circuit, as the circuit is a public road when no racing events are being run, and there are many residences which can only be accessed from the circuit. The track is an unusual design by modern standards, with a 174-metre (570-foot) vertical difference between its highest and lowest points, and grades as steep as 1:6.13. From the start-finish line, the track can be viewed in three sections; the short pit straight and then a tight left turn into the long, steep Mountain straight; the tight, narrow section across the top of the mountain itself; and then the long, downhill section of Conrod Straight, with the very fast Chase and the turn back onto pit straight to complete the lap. So the above is the reason I nominate for my October Desktop choice...................a Motor Racing pic again. So Folks let us see you do your best. 15. Indeed ROCKNROLL KODI on many platforms runs very well. I have found that using KODI for my movies/TV series has managed to handle every video/audio file formats that I have thrown at it. I mainly use it on my replacement media player a Gigabit MXIII Android 5.1 for the older WD TV Live unit which did have issues with some of the newer file video formats. The media player is connected to my TV, with the player siting on my network. KODI was actually pre installed on the MXIII media player and was my first experience with KODI outside the Windows PC environment. Interesting that something which Free works so well, thanks KODI.
  16. Or the TV reporting back the conversation taking place in the lounge room or other?
  17. That's disappointing to hear rridgley as I thought I might have trouble with my "Pov' GPU a MSI AMD Radeon R7 370 GPU with 4GB of RAM. However as my installed Mint 18 is not using any proprietary GPU drivers I would assume the "live" USB boot would be the same. As my Mint 18 installed OS is operating well at this stage I have not bothered to chase down other drivers for my GPU. Not sure how I am going to go when it comes to installing Steam and my driving games with wireless Logitech game controller.
  18. Kodi - Powerful media centre for Linux Mint: https://mintguide.org/video/469-kodi-powerful-media-centre-for-linux-mint.html Kodi is designed to be the perfect companion for your HTPC (abbreviation: Home Theatre Personal Computer), a personal computer, equipped with software and in some cases hardware, allowing to use it as a computer for home theater I have just completed the KODI (XBMC) media centre install on my Linux Mint 18 Sarah "64bit Cinnamon" and I am pleased to say the install was simple and all testing so far has proved A1. KODI also runs excellently on Android 5.1, 6.0 and Win 10 as a media player, plus many other advantages whilst connected to the Net...........look up "add-ons" once you've installed KODI
  19. I can remember many moons ago when Hotmail was hacked, now Yahoo, I suppose Gmail will be next.
  20. On my Nexus 7 there is the message as listed above that basically states I need to clear the Cache of some of my apps as the OS Android 6.01 is stopping CCleaner from doing it. My Moto "G" phone on the other hand running Android 5.1 states that I need to manually clean/clear the cache three nominated Apps. SMS, Chrome & You Tube. To manually clean/clear the cache is no big deal and as DennisD says be careful when it comes to "clear data" In both cases I am using CCleaner v1.16.62 Pro - Nice that the Pro version includes a scheduler.
  21. I have just updated and upgraded to Version 1.16.62 Pro which works exceptional well on my Moto "G" phone (Android 5.1) and my Nexus 7 (Android 6.1) with no issues at all.
  22. For those interested in a review of Linux Mint 18 Cinnamon I just came across follow this July 2016 link: http://www.hecticgeek.com/2016/07/linux-mint-18-review/
  23. I forgot to say that there's one very important item to remember login123.......................before doing a "side by side" Mint 18 / Windows OS install if you decide to take the next step beyond USB Flash drive, on a empty HDD, install Windows first. When it comes to installing Mint 18 OS on an existing HDD (Windows installed), do a Backup before you do anything (Macrium Reflect if your using it).........but I'm sure you thought of that............dam what a silly thing for me to say to me Ole Mate. By the way I've just completed a No2 install on another PC with the same (so far) excellent results, so let me know how you go Cobber. Tas.
