Thanks to both who replied.I have anothert question now. Several of the entries in registry cleaner say "invalid firewall rule." This is a new one on me. Why does CCleaner say the same thing for every entry in registry cleaner? It says "These references are often left behind after uninstalling software. Solution: Delete the registry value." I've uploaded a .txt file from one of the registry issues. It doesn't matter if there is one or one hundred issues, the diagnosis and solution are always exactly the same. registry2.txt

v1.14.288 says under graphics; "The specified service has been marked for deletion." It just started saying that on this last boot-up. What's going on? I saved it to a txt file and it should be uploaded here. Great product all things considered, I use it regularly to watch my temps. Thanks for any info.

Hello to all! I have always had great results with CCleaner, great product! I'm an intermediate PC user, fairly literate.I'm using Win. Vista, Home Prem., SP2, 32bit. I always have lots of reg. issues, esp. after waiting a while to run reg. cleaner. I've only used it a few times and haven't run into any problems which I think are caused by CCleaner. The question is; why do I have so many reg. issues? Most are "installer" issues and even the other issues usually say "value left behind after uninstalling software" or something to that effect, even though I haven't uninstalled anything! What's going on here? One issue I do have is that my facial recognition program I have, in lieu of having to type in my password when booting, doesn't work anymore but it started not working before I ever used CCleaner's reg. tool. Anyway, here's a .txt file of my issues if that helps. Also, would I have to restore ALL back-ups which were cleaned if I do have an issue after using the tool? Thanks for any answers, appreciate it. I'm running Vista Home Premium SP2, it constantly freezes up (crashes?). I boot back up in safe mode, restart with basic services/drivers and after restart enable all microsoft and my McAfee stuff, works fine. Question...I have some (I'm guessing) common registry issues to clean up, will this help toward fixing my problem? I'll back up the registry before fixing the issues. Thanks.
