Actually that's not true. The portable version has always been available immediately.
IMO this is a dumb move and will just lead to portable users running old versions if every time they get notification of an update, no update is available to download. I get the reason why they hold back the slim version, but doing so with the portable version makes no sense. If you use the installed version, you can use the full installer if you don't wanna wait. You don't have that option if you use the portable version. -

I've just discovered this program for the first time elsewhere, was about to post about it here after freeing up 5gb of space on my drive with it! Why is this program not more widely known?! (or perhaps, why doesn't Windows periodically free up this space itself). Great little program

Be handy if someone with a bit of scripting knowledge could create a script that alphabetised ccleaner.ini so all the app entries were together

Doesn't constantly changing names also bloat the ccleaner.ini file over time, as all the old names and their setting will be saved in the ccleaner.ini, even if the entry is no longer present in winapp2?

No. The file starts GUT followed by 4 numbers and letters (mine is GUT37E2.tmp)

These entries can probably be removed I think. Soluto is dead and, as far as I remember, required connection to their (also now dead) servers to work

MS dropped support for Windows Live quite a long time ago. Hardly anything ever used it. I do know some games that did, however servers don't work through it anymore, so deleting it wouldn't have any issues.
I didn't think so, I don't even have any Windows Live stuff installed as far as I can tell. Only discovered them after trying out a rival program yesterday. Another rival I tried found me those missed Manycam entries. Sometimes it pays to sleep with the enemy

Has anyone tried deleting the files at C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Windows Live\.cache? Seems to be a load of cached installers that haven't been modified since Windows install?

I was all set to disagree, till you pointed me in the direction of the relevant post. Surely the simple solution for those entries is to just untick the "not older than 24 hours" box in CC's options, not add additional entries to winapp2 when the capability is already present within CC.
So, short answer - I agree

I won't add the temp entries within other entries like that because some people don't want to remove temp files, or maybe only wants to remove it after sometime and mixing them up with other entries would not be good.

Whenever they've come out with new features over the years that aren't on by default I've never used them.
Yup. My routine is usually - try it, disable it, see it removed by Mozilla a few versions later.

When will they learn. They keep adding tat/features to the browser, then removing them a few versions later to 'streamline' cos no one used it. And a screenshots tool? Might have been groundbreaking 10-15 years ago, but now? I really do wonder about the brains at Mozilla (or if there are any!)

Is there a separate collection of language file entries for winapp2?

Cause problems if someone uses WMP, if not which is my case since I prefer different media players so I delete them.

[Windows Media Player Databases*] doesn't delete the actual local database files (at least in XP and Win7, I don't know about others). I have been adding FileKey4 to remove the databases themselves:

Might be worth saving a backup of your FF54 profile folder before updating to FF55 so you can still go back a version if buggy. Or, more likely, still be able to switch to ESR and delay the web exts bomb of FF57 for a year or so (I might even run two profiles from 55 onwards, one ESR and one RC, just to cover all bases lol)

Many do. Especially the year named versions as they're usually giveaway versions, not 'always free' versions (even though they technically are, they're not publicised as such to potential users). And newer is not always better. I used an old version of Burning Studio for years, cos the newer version added a load of bloat and functions I didn't need, was about ten times the size, and made a simple job complicated.
It sometimes seems like there's an OCD file size obsession when it comes to winapp2, even at the cost of functionality.
