  1. Thanks for the reply. I noticed that before, deleting and not seeing it in the recycle bin. If it doesn't go there when you delete it, where does it go and how do you know it was deleted?
  2. When I delete older files from external hard drive such an old system image or data backup does CCleaner clean them out? Last time I deleted some files I don't remember seeing them in the recycle bin to be cleaned out. System is Win 7 ultimate. CCleaner Pro.
  3. I just looked at settings and the "skip UAC" is unchecked. At least it works now.... Thanks again!
  4. No but that .ini file question made me go back and look at settings. The box to save settings to .ini file was ticked on the problem computer. I unticked that and all is well now. Thanks much for your help!
  5. Hello, CCleaner on my main computer has started deleting the saved cookies that are stored on the right side "cookies to keep" panel. This is only happening on 1 computer. Win 7 with IE 9 and also Chrome. All latest versions and updated. CCleaner 3.26.1888 I've uninstalled and reinstalled CCleaner and all settings seem to be OK. It happens in both IE 9 and Chrome Version 24.0.1312.52 m. CCleaner same version is working fine on my laptop with same programs.
  6. Whats the best way to locate these files in Vista? I read somewhere it's changed in Vista and harder to locate.
  7. Hi MrT, Thank you for taking the time to look into this. I followed your instructions and both programs are now functioning identically. Is it possible there was a problem with my original download? Whatever the issue was, 2.24.1010 is now running smooth and doing it's job just like all the previous versions I've used for years. Thanks again for your help

    Cookies

It will just keep that specific cookie. The others will be cleaned, unless you select any of them to be saved as they show up. Hope that answers your question.
  9. Glad to hear that solved your problem. I'm beginning to wonder if other users are not aware what's going on with the new 2.24.1010. At first, I just thought 2.24.1010 was just faster. After investigating I realized it was faster because it was doing little, if any cleaning. After I downgraded back, it took 2.23.993 several minutes to clean all the stuff that 2.24.1010 missed.
  10. Just curious if you have tried going back to version 2.23. That solved all of my similar problems. 2.24.1010 was not cleaning cookies or temp files on my vista 64, IE8 setup. See this thread: problems with 2.24.1010
  11. Thanks again. I've been cleaning the recycle bin in vista for over a year with no problems. [Except with 2.24.1010] That's the first time I've ever heard that.
  12. Thanks for the quick reply. Vista 64. I did remove the check you referred to but that didn't help. Also, CCleaner would not clean the recycle bin with the new version.
  13. I've been using CCleaner for many years with no problems. After installing 2.24.1010 I noticed it wasn't cleaning much after closing out the browser[ie 8]. Sometimes it would show "0 bytes removed" after closing IE8. Also noticed after the install about half the cookies selected to keep from previous[2.23.993] were missing. I did a system restore to before the new version. Then let 2.23 do a clean and it ran for several minutes cleaning out everything that built up from 2.24 not removing. Any ideas what happened to the new version or what caused this? For now I'm sticking with 2.23.993.
