  1. Click on some of those long red strings. What's in them?
  2. I don't believe there'll be one cos only ~135 have complained now. Thousands of users haven't. I for one like the new, clean mod look. And the program still runs good.
  3. You should see the offer box with decline option after waiting a few seconds. Cancel and try again.
  4. It's not malware. Eset is flagging the Google offer, which you can decline. In the event you accidentally install the Chrome, you can easily uninstall in CCleaner\ Tools\ Uninstall. fyi, Piriform earns a few cents by providing the offer. Helps pay for the programs.
  5. Did you try . . Settings\ Options\ Defrag\ untick ☐ Move large files to end of drive during whole drive defrag . . ?
  6. Did you ensure all these are ticked ☑ . . Also you can defrag pagefile.sys by running a Boot Time Defrag . .
  7. Settings\ Options\ General\ Interface\ Temperature: ☉Imperial (ºF)\ OK

  9. @ muymalestado PagingFile is slow memory, which is why I like to keep it small, and pertinent for only the current session. So I have it cleared at shutdown by installing Fixit 50463. Dumping all those slow-access files hurts nothing, and may speed up your system by forcing rewrites to the faster RAM.
  10. I suppose you've already tried fixing by rebooting computer. If you have a huge pagingfile indicated then I suppose it's true, though weird. I haven't used Sysinternals to unpage. Worth a try. Contents of pagingfile was swapped out from RAM, so it's not essential to have lotsa room allocated for it. I have 6GB RAM on this Win7 pc, and set pagingfile limits to 32MB initial, 512MB max. fyi\ to remove or change size of pagingfile I would ► Windows key + Pause-break key\ Advanced system settings\ Performance\ Settings\ Advanced\ Virtual memory\ Change\ ☉ No paging file\ Set\ OK. Reboot computer. Return to Advanced system settings and set pagingfile to desired size. Reboot computer.
  11. Yes, cos you have a single core cpu. Would indicate ~25% if you had quad core cpu and not multitasking.
  12. Even though you don't use IE, those files are from other programs using the ever-present Trident layout engine.

  14. For me a file defrag usually takes only seconds, and rarely over one minute. What percentage free space have you?
  15. Before Defraggling you should first run CCleaner to remove unwanted files. In Defraggler ensure all these are ticked ☑ . . . . and defrag. Follow with a Boot Time Defrag . . Alternatively I use file defrag. It's sohhhh fast. Tick ☑ Filename and click Defrag Checked.
  16. They are necessary if Windows won't delete them. I have many. Don't mess with them.
  17. Can you have Windows delete all of them in OS(C:)\ Properties\ Disk Cleanup\ Thumbnails ?
  18. Not that I'm aware of. The way I wipe swap files is to have Windows overwrite pagefile.sys at shutdown by installing Fixit 50463.
  19. Displays temps for my Pegatron 2ACD (PO) and Elitegroup 945GCT-M3.
  20. I don't fix missing shared DLLs cos something may break and I'd have to spend time on a repair. Doesn't hurt to leave them be. But if keeping them bug you, follow Nergal & Andavari's advice. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=42400&do=findComment&comment=256456
  21. I presume that you are aware that restore points usually land smack in the drive's middle, so before defragging for repartitioning I delete all of them along with paging file and hibernates cos they don't get moved.
  22. I usually suggest using Windows Defragger when repartitioning. Did you try it?
  23. They may work, I dunno. Try them. Programs are free. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/builds http://www.piriform.com/defraggler/builds http://www.piriform.com/recuva/builds http://www.piriform.com/speccy/builds
