  1. I've been using Recuva portable for years with WinXP SP3 The latest build is the only one I've ever had problems with The previous version RecuvaPortable1.43.623 works fine RecuvaPortable1.44.778 crashes every time during startup It is most definitely not a Windows problem Eventually someone at Piriform will figure that out Until then I will just stick with the previous working version which is 1.43.623 Any posts entertaining the notion that Windows XP SP3 is broken are a total waste of time Trust me, I've been fixing things all my life
  2. Update: This only happens if you keep a cookie in the options. To recreate this problem go to Options => Cookies and then keep a cookie. Then run CCleaner, the index.dat file in C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Cookies\ folder will not be deleted. Is there a fix for this problem?

  4. CCleaner v2.21.940 - Portable Windows XP SP3 Only two index.dat files are marked for deletion with CCleaner v2.21.940 - Portable. Marked for deletion: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat Marked for deletion: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\index.dat Particularly the file C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Cookies\index.dat is not being detected. If I install CCleaner on the computer three index.dat files are detected Marked for deletion: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat Marked for deletion: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Cookies\index.dat Marked for deletion: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\index.dat
  5. When I right click/analyze: Marked for deletion: C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat When I click the analyze button: Marked for deletion: C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\index.dat Marked for deletion: C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Local Settings\History\History.IE5\index.dat
  6. Restarting the computer is not the issue. The index.dat file mentioned is not being processed by CCleaner. I realize that not all index.dat files should be deleted, but the one I mentioned should definitly be recognized and processed by CCleaner and it is being ignored.
  7. Windows XP SP3 I've been testing your program and have found a problem that I can not solve, maybe someone can assist me. CCeaner claims to delete index.dat files but I have found that at least one index.dat file that definitely should be deleted is not being processed by your program. C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Cookies\index.dat lists all the cookies that were ever in that directory. There are only two index.dat files that are deleted by CCleaner. Is there a way to add other index.dat files to the list that works? I notice that your program has just been updated, why has this never been addressed?
