Thanks for the link, wish I had found this information a few weeks ago. I will, add some of the information here can be done via Ubuntu Tweak, save hacking too much into the system, and can easily be resorted at a click of a button.

I've been using Jolicloud on my netbook since the beginning of the year. Great little OS build with netbooks in mind. I've been looking at using Wubi on my desktop PC. Just curious if anyone has used it and what experiences they have. I like the idea of running the installer directly from Windows and the installer creates the dual booting process automatically. Jolicloud used the same process.

It's not been updated in a while but QT TabBar is cool. Lots of great features, too many mention. Some good plugins too. I also find FindeXer a good side bar addition too. These two I couldn't live without when using explorer.

A straight forward and simple answer at last, time to remove some stuff me thinks Next question, I've always ran SAS and MBAM in full deep scan mode as opposed to quick scan. Apart from the time factor, which isn't a problem, what is the real difference. I've always thought doing the full scan would reveal more if there was anything hiding.

Having read a few reviews regarding anti-spyware I've gotten a little confused. At the moment I'm using SuperAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes and Spybot S&D. I run each of these weekly and in full scan mode, making sure they are all up to date. I don't run them live or at start up on my PC's but any time I work on anyone's else PC I ensure at least SAS runs at start up. I noticed in a thread a few weeks ago someone mentioned that Spybot S&D was a waste of time after the first run, but never went on to explain why. So the question is do I really need all 3? What merits does each one have?

I'd recommend VLC for video and Foobar 2000 for music, it can be a bit complicated to start with but it's pretty versatile, but you may want to look at Lifehacker, they done a people survey of the best media players and this is what they recommend Top Five

Yip I nearly got sucker punched with that one too until I read the small print, it's only a one year subscription. I'll pass and stick to the free version for now, if it isn't broken I'm not gonna fix it.

Been a while

Started with Thunderbird, but abandoned it after I got Gmail up and running, it's all web based now. My browser is open most of the time, I didn't see the point of having two application running when one is enough. I think Thunderbird, Outlook etc are great if you have a poor or slow internet connection, download your email take your time to read and reply, but with the constantly connected high speed broadband, I personally don't see the point any more.

Unless your dual booting into Windows I pretty sure CCleaner won't run on OS X. If your looking for an alternative to use on your Mac, have a look at OnyX from my experience it does more or less the same on OS X

I thought you'd hit the nail on the head there, but nope, I even mounted a camera to find out what would happen, but another drive letter is allocated. Looks like I'm going to be stuck with it, to be honest it's not a major problem, it's just one of those annoying things.

I'd also backup anything important too just in case, I tried to dual boot with Ubuntu, and lost everything through my own stupidity, harsh lesson learned.

Thanks for the link, unfortunately there in lies the problem, the drive doesn't showing up in disk management, it's only shows up within explorer, go figure.

I've suddenly noticed a what I call a phantom drive on the PC. I just noticed it a few days ago when I moving some stuff around. It doesn't show up in Disk Management, there is no USB drives plugged in, and as you can see the properties show it as a RAW drive. Anyone got some idea how I can get rid of it and free up the "G" allocation.
