  1. What is going on with ccleaner???

No matter how often one disables Firefox Monitoring in the Start Up section, every time one opens Firefox the Monitoring enables itself again.

The delete option is not offered in ccleaner...What is going on ?????? Why is cclenaer trying to fool people into believing that they can disable it?  This is not just really insulting, it is also a breach of privacy!

How do I completely disable this?

    yes.

turn off monitoring, disable auto-updater, create firewall rules, and/or use portable version.

it all depends on what you want CC to do for you.
    what version do you have?

These would be the settings I have used for years.  CCleaner chenged or ignored them...

There will be snow in hell, before I would turn on monitoring! CCleaner did that!

THAT is what I want to do something about !!!!!

I have reset everything and will see, if the see if those settings will change again...

  4. Everything is OF COURSE updated, I am not an idiot. I asked a question, and you are not answering the question you are trying to figure what I must have done wrong.

Once more, a last time, this is teh question:

Why does cc offer me a list with the add ons and on the right side three buttons for choices enable, disable und delete, if it does not let users use these?

If there is no answer, then lets stop this, but I am sick an tired of people who admit they know no answer to my question, but keep on asking questions...

I have benn using cc for many years and ther were never any problem, it was a great d´software, but since getting into bed with that ripp off data stealing avast, one problem follows the other....

So, any answer to MY question? No? Than you, have a nice day....

I will now leave you to yourselves, so you can confirm your believes how great you are and everybody who thinks different, must be a moron.

  5. I am not an idiot! I use IDM for 5 years and I KNOW the problem, I ASKED A DIFFERENT QUESTION!  Can you guys read? Can you be bothered to read the question.

This is the fourth or fifth time I am asking a question in this form and NOT ONCE did I get an answer!

    just forget it....

  6. I use IDM.

When I go to tools > startup > firefox    there is an IDM integration extension, and it is set to “No”

On the right, where there are three buttons: enable, disable and delete, they are all grey and I can not enable this extension.

Why does ccleaner deny access, and how do I enable this extension?

    Thanks

For example this plug in Thumbnail zoom plus, doesn't work in FF 57 and later. (read half way down page on right-hand side)

     https://addons.mozilla.org/en-GB/firefox/addon/thumbnail-zoom-plus/

    https://thumbnailzoomplus.wordpress.com

Yes, but I know what that one looked like and anyway, it would no longer re-install inself and activate itself everytime I disable it, after it has been removed from the profile.. I guess ?

To figure out where exactly they're installed rather they're something from Firefox itself, or something Windows related type this into the Firefox address bar to launch the Install Plugins page:
    about:plugins

I did that of course, but they do not turn up there.

I can disable them as often as I want, they always return as enabled... So they are something else. Is there a way to research this?

  9. Yes it is a firefox plugin,  they both are, but NO further explanation is given. I disabled them in the morning and of course it is right back now, after another computer start.

This means that I can disable them, even as often as I want to, but as there is NO delete buttom (why?)..... they will re-appear

They do NOT show up in tools > add ons

I have just updated to 57.0.2. but this had been there before also.

As ccleaner is the ONLY place where it truns up, ccleaner ought to be able to tell me what it is, and why I cannot delete it, if indeed itis not needed, right?

Safe to text looks the same: I ma talking abou the two near the end

do you mean CC > Tools > Browser Plugins > Firefox ?

if so, what about the File column, that would help pinpoint the culprit and reason for the plugin?
if you can't Delete them, can you Disable them?
do they show up in Firefox > Tools > Add-ons?

    what's your FF version?

  10. Back in the good old days, after I used ccleaner, ALL cookies that I had not moved to "Keep" side weredeleted.

Since a few weeks/months, I now find that this cookie, which belongs to United Internet, a company I want NOTHING from on my computer, no longer gets deletes.

    Can someone explain, please?

    THanks JG

  11. I have beenm using compters for almost 30 years and I know whne I have malware on it.

The point is again, NO other browser than slimjet allows something like this, and the adware is on the browser software not the rets of the computer. And the reason for this is the unnecessary complicated way to set up something outrageous like a homepage.

I have already completely uninstalled slimjet.

    Thank you for your time.

  12. "...so close SJ, run CC in Analyse mode, and you'll see Chrome entries as per my first screenshot.  (don't forget Slimjet is a Chrome clone)"

No, in the ccleaner analysis page , there NEVER is a single item Google or Chrome, as in your screenshot. There is also NO Google or Chrome on the "Cleaner" settings page on the left in either the windows nor rhe Apllication list! Google Earth is mentioned... that is all!

But anyway, I am sure I will remove slimjet again, it has too many problems, and no one ever answers specific questions in their forum. For example: Ccleaner for Firefox also has stopped removing all cookies, there is one from United Internet, that can only be removed manually. Ccleaner will not remove it. And when I ask in another thread why that is so.... no answer.

slimjet regularly changes the homepage or the search engines, whenever it chooses to, and with the most idiotic ones available. Saving passwords takes longer than typing them in every time....

The bad news for my kind (and if you check the forums you will see: for many!) of course is, that Ff keeps gets worse with every update...

    Thank you for effort....

  13. Thanks, I got it.

All right, so now back to the beginning. I have the note pad page, I have the .ini file.

    Now I have to add:      CustomLocation1=CHROME|%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Slimjet\User Data\Default   ?

where exactly? I have added it as the last line of the ini file and saved it.

On the slimjet - extensions page Ccleaner is shown as enabled

If that is all correct: Where do I click to clean slimjet?  On the applications list of ccleaner, chrome is not listed and slimjet neither----

  14. Thank you both

I went to where nerghal wrote, and read to add something to ccleaner.ini in the options... but there is no cleaner.ini

so I tried the second version and where I was told to add FIREFOX|C:\GeckoWo\profile\sam  (replacing GeckoWo with slimjet, I suppose?) in the edit string box-

On the slimjet add-on page I created a shortcut to ccleaner, but all it does is open slimjet and the ccleneer homepage!

As I see mta is using another entry than the oen the piriform help suggests

    You show   CustomLocation1=CHROME|%UserProfile%\AppData\Local\Slimjet\User Data\Default

Is that what I should try? It even looks a lot more sensible to a computer moron like myself...

  15. Helpful answers require helpful info given in initial post by user :)

What operating System are you using?

Which browser are you using ?

When you open CC and go to options..cookies.. and highlight that cookie, what browser icon shows at the bottom of that page?

Do you use the 'delete all cookies on close' function built into your browser?

Thank you for asking, how am I supposed to know what info you need?

I have been using Win7, Ccleaner and Firefox for about as long as they exist, and nothing has been changed in my computer set-up.

I have chosen a list of cookies which has been moved to right of the panel, so it does not get deleted, and the rest on the left gets deleted by ccleaner.

And NEVER a cookie remained, and now there is this one from united internet.

And the obvious question is; Why does ccleaner since about two or threee weeks no lomnger deletes the cookie on the left panel, as it is supposed to do?

What can be done? and: Thanks
