After cleaning, and restarting AIM, my sound and signon settings, and user ID and password are reset. Is CCleaner doing this? If so, how can I prevent it in the future?

I notice that the Wipe Free Space option takes considerably less time than some other software, like File shredder -- much less time. This can't just be due to better code. Can you comment on this? Does it wipe according to the number of passes we set in options?
