Is it possible to set Defraggler to defrag my windows partition on boot? Currently it's not defragging whole partition because most of the files are in use. Could this be a feature added in the next version?
Try this to not solve the problem, but may help. Go to Start->run->Type msconfig->Click 'Diagnostic Startup'->Click Apply->Reboot->Defragment
To go back to your original boot go back to msconfig and click 'Normal Startup'

So, as I put in the title, my old Win98SE machine (a Pentium III 500 with 128 memory) won't run the "Clean" part of CC. I click on "analyze" and it immediately says "0" to remove.
However, I ran the "Registry" part of it, and it took a TON of old crap off.
I know I have old cookies and whatnot, because if I go into Options and click "Cookies", it find a whole pile of them, but they don't appear in the "Clean" part.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Aage
The files are probably 'locked' which means they are in use. One app can change a file at a time

Also, it wont take any more time than deleting the index.dat
Actually it would. Since there are millions of apps it would take forever to see if there are traces in registry, HD, etc.

Lol! I would upgrade if it didn't screw up my PC.
Same with me

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_7#Hardware_requirements
My laptop - Core 2 Duo T9300 @ 2.5 GHz, 3 GBs of DDR2 RAM, NVIDIA Quadro 570m, 160 GB hard drive.
I'm confused by your statement. And, Core i7 is way better than that. Can you clarify? Also, for more proof, my friend installed it on his desktop (Core 2 E4300, 2 GB's of RAM, NVIDIA 8600) as his actually install and it was as fast, if not faster, than Vista.
AJ
When i ran it on a little bit lower end pc it was extremely slow. When i said hardware requirements i meant reasonable speed not literal.

My mom's PC got warned this morning that " you maybe victim of software counterfeiting ".Damn ....
As I know, she bought genuine software from authorized dealer. She already had XP Pro SP3 with all the latest updates from Microsoft (WU is on).
What should I do ? Reinstall or give it back to dealer and get new one. I can't believe this could happenned after long time.
Microsoft SHOULD ANSWER ! !
Thank for your suggestions .
I know exactly how you feel. Microsoft needs some common sense. I downloaded a beta of windows server 2008 from the microsoft website! And microsoft decided that what i downloaded from them was not genuine and i may be a victim of counterfeiting
@#$!
Edit: Windows XP activation assistance web site is unavailable now. Thanks microsoft, we love your help
More of an edit:"While we've been pleased with the positive response we've seen and heard from customers using Windows Vista, there are some customers who need a little more time to make the switch to Windows Vista," Microsoft said in a press statement.
Even more Edit: The sad thing is, microsoft takes windows xp off the shelves and without activation it is useless. Hackers (Activation cracks) will last longer than microsoft will. Who should I have more faith in...?
Answer:
Hackers

A great tool, Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder (Download Here) finds your windows product key and can change the person who windows is registered. Does anyone know why it was originally marked as malware?(False Positive)

doesnt windows have this feature installed?
On certain editions of windows can act as a server like XP Pro and Media Center. UltraVNC is a great program that sits quietly on my tray. Difficult to configure, but once you get it going its completely transparent.

Just installed the latest version on a friends machine. They swear the have been running regular defrag.
Yet, defraggler says "101% Fragmentation" and over 160K fragments???????
How is this possible? I don't easily accept anything "more than 100%"
Oh, and I did the Defraggler volume check - No Major (are their Minor??) problems found!
I dont kno for sure but it could have something to do with your cluster size

Methinks Comper6 is used to bashing.
I like the windows 7 features and stuff like that, but i just want the x-factors to be settled before using it
-
Don't know what you're talking about comper6 - everyone I've talked to said to seems to be pretty happy with it. I have had it in a Virtual Machine, and I like it. I might install it as a main O/S once my Core i7 rig is built . Maximum PC is very happy with the beta so far.
AJ
"virtual Machine" ever heard of hardware requirements?

Except that I can't have that upgrade on my comp
Hence the point
