  1. I love XP but I also think there comes a time when you need to move on!
  2. Is it in the Control Panel's "Add/Remove Programs" list?
  3. Sorry to inform you blackboxxx but this is normal and I'll explain why... Defraggler uses real-time updating of storage space on all drives it recognizes which includes USB drives. So technically, all drives that Defraggler recognizes at start-up are constantly being read for any changes to disk space. I don't know if this is something the developers can fix, but this is definitely not a version bug. This has been going on dating back to the 1.06 version which is when I started using Defraggler. Test my theory... Delete something or install something while Defraggler is open and you can view the drive chart portion of the window. You will see the disk space amount change in real-time. I hope this helps, Keith
  4. I prefer to get the best performance out of my USB drive so I have it set to "Optimize for Performance"... And I always "safely remove hardware" with my USB drives unless of course I get the dreaded error saying that my drive is still in use and there is nothing using it! (from what I can tell of course) Then, I just take my chances and pull it out.
  5. Just going to be so hard to get users to move to Windows 7 when updates will be provided for XP until 2014
  6. That is impressive. I wish I had some money just to put a modest extra build together, let alone a beast like that
  7. cr0t, You have a point. It's still v1.08... I'm sure once the mods see this, they will forward it to the site admins Keith
  8. I would agree... It seems all software these days needs to come with a warning label
  9. craigathus, I have a 3870 that I bought in Nov 07... I can assure you that ATI and their subvendors still do not have things together. Sometimes when I restart my computer, my fan speed is 0% and other times it's in the 20% range. I always use Rivatuner no matter what to set it to 56% and that keeps it cool without putting too much stress on the fan. As you can see in your GPU-Z screenshot, your fan % is 0 while your RPM is 5000+. I wonder if that's a bug... I would give Rivatuner a shot. Keith
  10. I'm glad my suggestion worked out for you Robbie. I hope it does the same for you Icedrake! Keith
  11. Thanks for your continued hard work Piriform. I think the search feature will prove to be very useful for most users! Keith
  12. Hey hazel, Not a whole lot of information on that page... What does the promotion entail? Keith
  13. When Doves Cry - Prince was #1 in the US on the day I was born... I hate Prince but my girlfriend loves him!
  14. You got a link to that news Andavari... I know a few days ago, they mentioned that any computer infected was receiving an updated exe file and instructions, but I haven't seen anything posted today about it Keith
  15. I agree... I had ClamWin on my work computer as a secondary scanner to Sysmantec (not by choice) up until last week. I got tired of the long scan times and it didn't seem like detection was very good either. I may give ESET a try though!
  16. Online scanners are definitely a godsend although you do have to deal with longer scan times because it's over the internet. I frequently use Kaspersky's Online Scanner and Panda Activescan.
  17. Are you running the latest version? If so, that feature is already available. Click the "settings" menu and go to "Shutdown after Defrag". http://docs.piriform.com/defraggler/defrag...utdown-settings I hope this helps, Keith
  18. Hmm it seems "FilePig" has the change log but FileHippo doesn't. Are these 2 sister sites or is "FilePig" a rogue site? Keith
  19. pekkala89, First, welcome to the forum. Second, currently, Defraggler does not have the option to defrag at boot although in a similar thread, someone did mention that it is in the works for future versions. I hope this helps, Keith
  20. I have actually used an uninstall manager before but I think I may give this Total Uninstall a try just to say I have
  21. Hmm... An A/V by Microsoft eh? I used Windows Defender for a bit but just didn't feel very safe so I hope they do better with their A/V. I much rather have a Spybot S&D or MalwareBytes' in the background providing realtime protection with WinPatrol batting 2nd.
  22. Welcome to the forum vitamin0s! I hope you enjoy your stay. It is very cozy here! Keith EDITED: for typo
  23. Hmm.... Sorry to hear that you have had to go through all of that... The best thing I can tell you right now is to list your full system specs and hope that a developer sees your post because this is definitely an usual, probably isolated situation. Keith
