  1. Toll, There is a portable version being maintained and you can find it by going to: http://www.ccleaner.com/download and clicking on the "Other builds" link near the bottom. I hope this helps, Keith

  7. I think the important question to ask in this situation is... Are you having symptoms or problems with your computer that would make you think there's something wrong? Or are you just exploring and trying to learn? If there are symptoms or problems with your computer, I'd suggest reading this thread FIRST: Before you post! and then posting a thread in the Spyware Hell section of the forum. If you just want to learn more about the processes running on your computer, Process Library is a good resource as well as any search engine like Google/Yahoo. I hope this helps, Keith
  8. I read this about a week ago and still haven't made any changes on my Vista laptop. I'm afraid I still don't have enough experience to really start playing with the firewall settings. Thanks hazel
  9. Welcome therock, I noticed you on MalwareBytes forums My username is 'swagger' there.
  10. All the information is in the readme file included in the zip... However, yes you can just run the updater OR extract the hosts file by itself to the directory (varies based on O/S eg. C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ for XP)
  11. Bugs are always fun! Did you report it?
  12. Answered my own question. I formatted the drive and Recuva was able to find the files. HOWEVER, the files were not readable :x
  13. I doubt I'll get a quick enough answer that I need, but I am getting a "unable to read boot sector" error when trying to search a thumb drive with Recuva. When I try to access the drive in Windows, it basically keeps asking me to format the drive because it isn't formatted. I have 2 questions: Is the drive unrecoverable (eg. dead)? Do I need to format the drive first in order for it to have a boot sector? Thanks in advance, Keith
  14. MVPS.org Hosts File Updated on 19 April 2009 http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm Keith
  15. comper, Not to be a drag on you but why don't you put all of your thoughts into 1 post? 3 posts in the same minute or two is kind of crazy don't you think? Anyway, my O/S's are in my signature.
  16. I went to the page and still didn't really understand what Minefield was... Thanks for the clarification!

  18. I've been using the new version for a few days now at work and have not noticed any problems. Worked as it did with 3.34 (thanks hazel for the suggestion) Keith
  19. It sounds like you have been infected with a virus... However before I jump to conclusions I would have a read here: Before you Post! And then post a thread in the Spyware Hell section of the forums. Hope you get that issue resolved. Keith

  23. OH LORD! That's a lot more than my car I bought in 2007 for $18,500!!!
  24. Odd but on my laptop that runs Vista, it was there by default... Although, the icons don't look the same when you compare from Win XP to Vista... Did you try right clicking on the drive in "My Computer" and making sure it's optimized for performance?
