  1. Necroposting? I have Office 365 installed and have for a few years now. The OP and others need to learn how to format their posts better. It's hard to read and understand their problem when everything is crammed together. They should use [multiple] paragraphs to separate their points and make it easier for others to help them. Anyway, maybe lock this thread? @nukecad
  2. Just an update. I realized what's going on. I unticked IE for cleaning to speed up the process. I went ahead and enabled the settings for IE cleaning (there's no IE in Windows 11) and now it's cleaning fine. But if I run analyze again, this nasty file keeps on being shown and like a Zombie, you can kill it but it keeps coming back: --- C:\Users\MYPC\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\INetCache\Low\SuggestedSites.dat 5,121 KB
  3. @hazelnut That's awesome. It's an unusual place for sure, but at least I now know where to look. Thank you!
  4. It seems CCleaner has followed the old trend started around 20 years ago with light and thin colored fonts which make it ridiculously difficut to read . There is ample evidence and literature this is not only aesthetically unpleasant but also hard on one's eyes. To further add insult, the site won't let you log-in if you use an adblocker/anti-fingerprinting extensions.
  5. One of the main cookies which remain is assets.msn.com I have to manually delete it after scanning and then analyzing.
  6. I'd suggest otherwise. This is a terrible change. Who asked for this? Clearly not the real users, but some developers who don't seem to care about our user experience. And what's up with all the cookies on the support page? I think a vote/poll on this would be prudent Maybe then they will see how unpopular this is. And how do we contact these developers anyway? I feel they need to hear from us loud and clear. We are the ones who use their product regularly and it seems they don't.
  7. Wow, you must have a lot of patience to put up with that nag screen. It's like having a fly buzzing around your ear every time you use CC. And don't get me started on the name change. Crapcleaner was way more catchy and honest back in the day. You should demand better from a program that you've been loyal to for so long. Don't settle for crap, literally.
  8. It's always a good idea to include the link when referring to another topic :)
  9. I just got it today...I use constantly use CC and it never happened until now. How frustrating. Let's hope the developers prioritize this bug and provide an update/fix.
  10. The cookies don't show up during "analysis" but do when manually selecting cookies in CC. I haven't seen this issue crop up in quite some time. But it's back. I suspect the cookies are Edge Cookies (using W11 Pro). I also use FF and Chrome.
  11. I should add (can't edit after the fact) that on average, cleaning is around 7+ seconds. Even the analysis time varies despite no changes which again seems to be pointing to Windows itself.
  12. I agree with you. Windows Security/Defender does slow things down in general and it's becoming worse it seems. The "best" speed I now can attain is 3.88 seconds with IE cleaning disabled. Still slow compared to before.
  13. Thanks. That's one more reason why I won't install a program application onto any other drive but C (System) drive. I've had bad experiences in the past ( going back to Windows 95 days) where If I do so, things can go array. But I can understand why some people would want to install onto a drive other than C.
  14. Thanks for the info and that I'm not the only one experiencing this. I did update to the official release. I only obtain my updates directly from CCleaner's website. I still use W7 on my old PC, so I know what you mean. I thought CCleaner would avoid cleaning IE temp files on W11 and these IE files (on my W7 system) would always be the bottleneck for CCleaner.
  15. I wonder if this is a problem with CCleaner or if I need to adjust some settings. I have a laptop with an NVMe SSD drive that used to run CCleaner very fast. But lately, it takes much longer to clean. It still cleans Internet Explorer even though I use Windows 11 (no IE)! All the items that CCleaner cleans are on my C drive, where I install my programs. My D drive is for data files and media.
  16. Indeed. Loading and cleaning are not the same. I didn't want to start a new thread for the slow cleaning. If you think I should, let me know. I have looked at the task manager including Process Hacker. There's nothing odd and cpu load is nominal which is frustrating that the fans are running. As I type this, all is good (for now). Like you said, Windows Updates can take hours or days to do it's "thing" after an update. This is similar after an iPhone update too. But I've disabled (delayed) Windows Updates for now. I'll keep monitoring it. I seen your post earlier about Winapp2, I'm not familiar with it so I'm not intentionally using it. I think I'll uninstall Ccleaner and reinstall it just to see if the cleaning improves. But it always pauses for a long time when it's performing Edge cleaning. Heck, it's even cleaning Internet Explorer files! And those WIndows Widgets are pia too which like to start up despite being disabled in the Settings. Lenovo files seem to rely on Edge Runtime Environment too. I've attached a couple of screenshots taken less than a minute apart from the previous cleaning.
  17. Count me as the "second" person. I have all this disabled and running W64 and connected via RJ45.
  18. I was going to create a separate topic on this but the OP beat me to it. {Topics split, this is not quite the same issue - Nukecad} I too have notice a BIG lag starting with version v6.09.10300. This lag is with cleaning, not loading although it's a bit longer now (about 2 seconds). I have an NVMe drive and I have over 87% free. CCleaner was always lightening fast on my current system until recently. I have two different Chromium browsers (Edge and Chrome) installed and I know in the past Microsoft browsers and their "junk" were bottlenecks with CCleaner. But that was on a Windows7 system running HDDs not SSD/NVMe drives. As another guess, there have been some "major" updates with W11 recently and Chrome. I noticed a slow down in general in loading applications and more. In fact, my laptop fans love to engage these days when idle and that in itself is driving me bonkers. I haven't been able figure out what's doing this and Defender is always running these days it seems.
  19. FWIW, I was told by my laptop manufacturer (Lenovo) not to use ANY third party utilities (not even Microsoft) to update it's drivers. Only update the driver's from the official Lenovo support site.
  20. Thanks I've done that, as a temporary workaround. But that's not really a solution. CCleaner is forcing you to use this service after you tried it out. I'll just uninstall CCleaner and reinstall it..
  21. I see no direct option to do this. The only option is to "wake" sleeping programs, but it seems "CCleanerPerformanceOptimizerService.exe" will always run in the background, Or must I uninstall CCleaner and never enable CCleaner Performance Optimizer, again? The above should be included in the FAQ, but it's not.

  23. From experience, I no longer allow CCleaner to automatically delete issues it discovers while performing Registry Cleaner task. The other day I was curious to see what would come up. I noticed some invalid firewall entries. Not long ago, I reset my Windows firewall to default so I'm a bit puzzled why there would be any invalid entries given firewall entries (should've) been removed after the reset. Is it ok to delete the invalid firewall rules?
