  1. Hi,

    When I use CCleaner it shows that it has removed more than what it shows when I click Analyze.Sometimes it removes more than double the size.I am using v.2.13.720.I have had this problem in the previous versions also.

    Other than this,CCleaner is an excellent program.My OS is Vista Home Basic SP1.

    Thanks!

    Dear Albin,

    The option "Analyze" only means that it shows what it would remove (this option doesn't remove anything).

    And if some of those files are in use, Running won't delete them.

    Therefore "Analyze" often shows more files than what CCleaner is about to delete.

  2. I have been using CCleaner since release and was recently checking for updates on your site and found Defraggler. Annoyed with windows vista defrager, which shows no graphic representation of whats going on or what files are being defraged, I downloaded and installed Defraggler. Knowing the quality of CCleaner I was sure that Defraggler would be a winner as well. I was correct. I let defraggler run for about an hour, not only did it speed my drive up by 110%, it uncovered the fact that I actually have more free space then previously thought. CCleaner and Defraggler in combo always get the job done now, and are helping me keep my machines in perfect health.

    I do have one request. Something that if you added I would pay for. If there was a "Server" edition that could be a minimal install with remote access from a workstation where I could analyze, monitor, and defrag any drive in my storage arrays from anywhere. The ability to select several servers and just hit a defrag button and know that all of my servers are doing what I want, when I want.

    Thanks for the GREAT FREE SOFTWARE!,

    Noobixide

    Well thank you :)

    With most of the people Piriform Software do indeed work as they should.

    Server edition is of course being planned but it won't me published in the near future.

    The Defraggler itself needs to be a little better before that.

    I mean Defraggler's latest version is currently 1.03.094 and there has been published only 12 Defragglers. The first one was published on 2007.

    Whereas CCleaner's new version is 2.13.720, has over 53 publishes and the first came out on 2005.

    Then Recuva which's latest version is 1.20.361, has 27 publishes and the first one was also on 2005.

    So basicly we just need to wait for Defraggler to become even better program so that some server computer admins won't uninstall Defraggler after the first run.

    I would guess that 80% of server admin's support Defraggler.

    The number needs to be 100.

  3. I've a PC with MS Windows XP SP3 italian installed.

    I've installed Defraggler on a PC logged as administrator. After I've logged with a User level right and I found the following problems:

    1. Program does not appear in installed programs in Start menu;

    2. If I run the exe, I cannot analyze the drives because I got the following error:

    "Processing aborted due to: Accesso negato."

    (I'm working with Italian version of XP; the error message in english is "Access Denied")

    It seems that I need administrator rights for running defraggler ...

    Is it real?

    If yes, Is there a way for running it anyway (with scheduling for example) without administrator present inserting his password?

    Bye and thanks.

    Yes, you do need admin rights.

    If every user on the computer would defrag all the time the system would end up crashing

    because defragging and using the OS is a bad combination.

    I suggest to move on to linux ^^

    That's what I did when Windows started to annoy me too much.

    But yes you can schedule the scans. I'm now on my linux (like most of my time) so I can't check the path to scheduling but

    in English it was propably Options -> Schedule

    or

    Properties -> schedule

    and in Italian (a quess) I think it is:

    Opzioni -> Orario

    or

    Sostanza -> Orario

    :lol:
