  1. Good guess but I've tried with no extensions and still the browser subprocess of edge needs to be killed by task manager about 50% of the time.
  2. Latest update to windows 11, unsure the code. About 60% of thr time edge does not exit fully and must be ended from background processes on task manager. Have both setting off, have toggled them. Have gpedit telling edge not to start at startup and idle.
  3. No, edge changed something and those option aren't enough to stop edge from continuing running after exit some of the time
  4. Yes but that's something microsoft changed, it's not properly exiting all the time and starts with machine idle (if you don't have windows pro and access to group policy editor)
  5. You're gonna need to contact support by email Support@ccleaner.com
  6. Yes something in a new edge update is keeping it running and starting it at idle. I've found some success in using group policy editor (i have pro version of windows) to strictly refuse starting at startup or when idle (administrive templates>windows components>microsoft edge). It started doing it again today (once but can't reproduce yet).
  7. No, this is an official website, alternatives are not to be discussed
  8. This Thread closed as a duplicate, i thought we'd discussed it recently thanks @hazelnut
  9. For those that chose edge, settibg this group policy to disable seems to fix the edge stays open and can't clean "bug" I'll follow up if this changes and it comes back.
  10. Ok so for about the last few weeks (maybe a month) edge runs in the background and does not end; as evidenced by ccleaner not cleaning at exit and by microsoft edge processes (12 of them) in task manager background processes. I've got the right settings, no startup boost, no run extensions in the background (toggled and restarted many times over). Turned off all extensions as that is often a problem in other browsers and edge is now chromium so could befoul it too. Any other suggestions (outside of don't use edge) I like it and it makes me able to help others who just use the default browser whatever it is.
  11. Are you asking a question about ccleaner browser? Or something about the ccleaner windows download page maybe?
  12. Check that your antimalware is not blocking it. Are you opening ccleaner.exe or ccleaner64.exe (the former should launch the latter but maybe av is stopping it)
  13. Copy the ini to another location (like desktop, or external disk) Uninstall ccleaner Reinstall Cut the ini from the desktop and paste it in the new ccleaner folder
  14. As far as i know PA has the developer's permission (at least they used to have it in the piriform days)
  15. No, drive wiper does not, to the best of my deep knowledge, do this.
  16. I use many Portable (large P) Apps apps without PA platform and update them via the webpage for the portable app. It should be noted that not all regular portables (small p) are stealth (leaving no traces). Ccleaner was stealth but no longer, still works well portably without PA wrapper.
  17. I've hidden your last post. You shouldn't post such personal information in public like that. Don't worry moderators and more importantly the ccleaner staff can still see the information you provided.
  18. Personally i didn't answer because i don't use driver updater. I was against its addition, i find it (and all driver "updaters") dangerous. It is blind to build, so if you have a driver on windows 10 saying there's a update but, in reality, it is a driver for win11. I have no unknown drivers so have no way of testing your question. I assume most USERS feel the same as me. Ccleaner employees have rarely interacted with the forum, every so often they send some helpers, but they usually fade after 6 months or a year and things go back to us USERS having to answer questions, or not be able to as in your case.
  19. It may be that there are no sensors, but it could also be speccy has not been updated by the developers in a VERY long time. It may just not be up to reading on a new pc. These are my opinions and not those of the ccleaner team, who still maintain that speccy is viable.
  20. There is no support phone number for ccleaner, are you sure you have ccleaner (two c's) Ccleaner has no affiliation with macafee, they are owned by avast/avg/norton but not macafee. I worry you were scammed
  21. I copy only ccleaner.exe ccleaner64.exe and bug report.exe (not sure that's the exsct name) to my portable folder and it works without extra tools. I think it's genius that this application is modular. I do have an installed version on the same pc, so report back if it's not the case that it works modularllly. If you run something portable don't update within the app use the xip file or temp install move those files and uninstsll
  22. The first three relate to norton security do you still run norton? If so don't remove them
  23. Any unchecks you make in healthcheck revert the next time. I don't use healthcheck so am at a loss. I'd suggest using custm clean as it follows the cookies to keep setting and will allow you to keep logged in to sites (other than those that log you out after time idle). As far as your pictures i can nearly 100% guarantee is due to registry cleaning.
