  1. I recently  installed the portable version of Google Chrome in order to test something on it that didn't work in Firefox.  There was no traditional install of the portable version as far as it showing up in Programs and features, just an extraction of the files contained within the executable  I noticed that after installing the portable Google Chrome I had an entry in the Custom Clean section called Google Chrome.  I figure it was created due to the portable Google Chrome install.  I no longer needed the portable version so I just deleted the folder.  There is no uninstall in Programs and Features because it is the portable version as I already mentioned.

    The entry is still in CCleaner.  I deleted a Google Chrome entry in my Registry although I needed to run as TrustedInstaller because I could not delete it.  Kept getting permission errors and access denied errors.  Running as TI enabled me to delete it.  However, the entry in CCleaner is still there.  CCleaner must determine what programs you have by looking somewhere like in folders or the Registry.  I am looking to get rid of the entry in CCleaner by any means.  Any ideas?

    On more thing.  I recently installed the MS Edge Chromium version.  I am thinking that doing this created the Google Chrome entry in CCleaner although I think this is a long shot.  The two browsers seem to be distinct from each other.

  2. The latest version of CC no longer displays nor cleans my Firefox 4.0b8pre cookies. I am running the latest nightly of Fx4 Minefield.

    I went back to an older version of CC (pre v3) and cookies also were not found. Perhaps the cookie database changed recently.

    Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:2.0b8pre) Gecko/20101103 Firefox/4.0b8pre - Build ID: 20101103134607

  3. Found the version check CC is using. It's in compatibility.ini in the default FF profile.

    [Compatibility]

    LastVersion=3.7a1pre_20090925042642/20090925042642

    LastOSABI=WINNT_x86-msvc

    LastPlatformDir=C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    LastAppDir=C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox

    CC checks the LastVersion. Evidently anything above 3.5.x causes CC not to process cookies. Changing it to 3.5 fixes the problem, but FF always recreates this file using whatever version of FF used this profile which in my case is always 3.7.

    So I got a workaround for now, making LastVersion 3.5 then running CC. This must be done every time I want to clean up my cookies.

    **** found a better way. I created a file called compatibiliti.ini (notice "i" not "y") and made LastVersion 3.5. I then changed the CC exe to go to my new file. Now I don't have to do anything more as FF leaves this new file alone.

    btw... this doesn't get me access to Internet History. However I can always clear that in FF.

  4. Using the latest version of CC. The following FF files are not being processed in Minefield which is my default browser at the moment.

    Cookies

    Internet History

    The rest are OK. This always seems to happen with a new version/build of FF. You process the other three files why not these two? Both of these files are the same format as the current version 3.5. If it's a version check can this be disabled?

    Thanks

  5. After a recent nightly build of Firefox 3.5b4Pre CC doesn't show anything for Cookies, History, or Cache.

    It does however find my Downloads and Form History data. Other then my Cache they are all in the same place namely my Profiles folder.

    I monitored CC and saw it was finding the right Databases and reads them but for some reason doesn't feel a need to report anything. Perhaps the structure of these DB's have changed.

  7. Using Vista x86 and the latest version of CC.

    File extensions that have only the sub-key UserChoice are being flagged as unused file extensions. They are not. I think UserChoice is new to Vista.

    Example:

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.wmp]

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.wmp\UserChoice]

    "Progid"="mplayerc.wmv"

    oops didn't see the bugs forum. Sorry.
