  1. If using IE7 try unticking 'Delete index.dat files' under the Internet Explorer section

No, I'm using IE6 with all updates and index.dat is not checked for cleaning.

I've noticed this on two XP Pro SP2 machines since the last versions. Both machines have all MS updates.

    :(

I guess I will start working backwards to find the last version that works correctly.

  2. I have downloaded the latest CC Cleaner (1.41.544) and I have moved a couple cookies (for sites I have to logon to) that I want to keep to the "Cookies to Keep" box. When I go the these sites (I have checked the "Remember Me Box) I have to re-log on again for these sites.

This just started with this latest version and I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but still no success.

The cookies in the "Cookies to keep" box show up just fine in CC Cleaner but after running "Run Cleaner", the cookies remain in the Keep Cookies Box just fine but when I go back to the sites where I have previously logged on to, my logon is no longer there and I have to relog in.

I'm not sure what I might be doing wrong and I would really appreciate any help :)

    Thank you

I just dropped by here to see if anyone else was having the same problem. Apparently so. When I run the new version of Crap Cleaner it doesn't recognize the "cookies to keep" and deletes them so I have to log back in to every site. Maybe it's not a bug but a new feature.

  3. The whole 'toolbar and tainted' talk are becoming so boring. I wish this thread could just have excitement and thank you messages going out to MrG about the new version that is forthcoming which represents a major bugfix in the Hotfix Uninstaller and some other bugfixes. If people want to constantly bitch about the toolbar just revive one of the threads that are just for that.

A big yeah! to that. So what if there was a toolbar - it's not like some software where you get it whether you want it or not. You had a choice to opt out. If you don't read what you are installing, then you deserve what you get.

I wish as many people would make a donation towards the software as have complained about the toolbar.

  4. I noticed today that Run - in start menu no longer gets cleaned. This may not be a problem with crapcleaner because another function in my start button got corrupted after installing Update for Windows XP (KB906569)

Anyway, as this all seemed to happen after the update was applied, I am going to assume that my problem with crapcleaner not cleaning the start - run out and whatever corrupted the additional tweak that I used to put control panel in my start up are related and tied to the windows update. I'll blame it on Micro$oft.

  5. I know it was mentioned earlier, but I'd like to see CC create a default location to back up registry issues before you fix them. Or at least ask you if you want to back them up to a default location with the option to change it.

Other than that, I love this little program. It keeps getting better, and it is so small and efficient.
