I managed to get hibernation on my desktop after disabling Hybrid Sleep. After hibernating for several hours, I resume the computer. After the 'Resuming Windows...' screen, I see a blinking underscore in the top-left corner of the screen for 2 minutes before the desktop appears. Why?

I installed Spybot S&D 1.6. I can't check for updates unless I disable Norton IS 2007's firewall. There is an exception for Updater.exe, but it doesn't work. What ports does it use? I guess not 80.

I know that I must run as admin/but doing so prevents it from cleaning my own info (Firefox/Recycle Bin) Now, I run CCleaner twice (as std./as admin)

Using a limited account on Vista, running CCleaner as admin cleans the Windows Temp folder/reg. However, unless I DON'T run as admin, I can't clean my cache or Recycle Bin. Is there a way around this?

If a graphics card requires >20 amps on the 12 volt rail, and my PSU has 2 12 volt rails that produce a combined current of more than 20 amps, will the card work? The power is delivered directly through the PCI-E slot-no cables.

I am using YPOPs! with Outlook to access my Yahoo mail. I am also using Norton Internet Security 2007 provided by Verizon. Unless I disable 'Outgoing Email Scanning' in Norton, I get an error whenever sending mail from Outlook. However, disabling it leads to a 'Needs Attention' warning on the main panel. Any way I can get rid of this warning or gent Outgoing Email Scanning to work? What is the purpose of scanning outgoing emails anyway? Incoming email may contain viruses in attachments or code, but outgoing messages are your control.

What does Drive E show as under Disk Management? Do regular shortcuts work? Go to: C:\Program Files\{username}\Desktop Do those shortcuts work?

Can the Canon MP160 print transparencies? It is not an option under Media Type.

I have had this problem before. Going to a command prompt of the folder and deleting everything (del *.*) works.

You can't change your own name. On Windows XP, only an administrator can change any other user's name. If you don't have another administrator account, use the built-in one. At the welcome screen, press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice. Enter Administrator for the username and no password. Login. Go to Control Panel and select Classic View, then select User Accounts. Click on your name and choose Change Username.
