  12. These scammers are using well know and respected antivirus names to try and suck people in. Virus Total

Try and create a Folder anywhere on the Computer named as “CON, ON, PRN, AUX, CLOCK$, NUL, COM1, COM2, COM3, COM4, COM5, COM6, COM7, COM8, COM9, LPT1, LPT2, LPT3, LPT4, LPT5, LPT6, LPT7, LPT8, LPT9 “. Open your microsoft Word and type or c+p =rand (200, 99) and press “Enter”

  15. Have half a dozen Vista/XP virtual machines with different setups but I only use them when warned to do so when testing some certain malwares. Sandboxie by itself usually does me fine.
  16. Firefox with Noscript run through Sandboxie whilst in Returnil mode inside a Virtual Machine with the real system in Returnil mode as well. Ghost images and a clone on a spare hard drive. And a couple of spare computers.
  17. You could have a look in the Event Viewer for any pointers to the prob?
  18. New one to watch out for. These scam artists change the name from Internet Antivirus by adding "Pro" to it then morph the installer so as to be udetectable by most blacklist scanners.
