  2. Just noticed the MaxTcpWindowSize in the registry for winxp keeps being changed automatically despite re-setting permissions to administrator access only, even denying the system access to it; for some strange reason and I suspect its the netgear router that keeps changing the value from 130640 ( which gives me a good speed even when data-capped - at least a better dial up speed!! ) to 16400 (which just slows it down heaps!!) now using the same service providers' wireless modem didn't make any changes to the registry but using their wireless modem card inserted in the wireless router is the culprit I guess...

Does anybody have any ideas as to preventing Tcp Window size from being automatically changed ?? coz its a value the user should be free to set and the ISP could govern the data transmission speeds ( NOT ! how fast I'm able to unpack the package received at my end!)

    thanks

you better post your problem HERE

  5. Hi SOULJA, I can appreciate having the size of a program listed with the name, I think that would be very useful addition to the Uninstall list, and I'm sure the developers will take note of your suggestion.

Mind you, I can't understand why you like to uninstall from bigger to small. It seems to be an unusual criteria for removing stuff, unless you use that method for giving yourself needed drive space.

Anyways, thanks for posting your suggestion.

in my laptop there are lot of programs installed and some of them are small in size so i like to remove large programs to save my time.. (my hard drive is only 44G)

  6. Hello!

This post is about disk partitions and why they are so great!

They are so great, that in fact everyone should have one!

A good idea is to partition your harddisk to have 2 partitions.

This way you can have your operating system and system files on one partition (the primary partition) which usually is C:

Then you can have another secondary partition which is D:

where you store any other data such as media files (music, movies) and all sorts of stuff.

Maybe you have a 100 gb harddisk. Then you can allocate for example 20 gb to have on a system/primary partition (C:) where you have for example Windows XP. Then the rest (80 gb) you have on your secondary partition (D:).

This can help you keep stuff categorized and prevent you from accidently deleting something on the system partition when you are handling your files.

Now imagine if your operating system didnt work so well, you needed to reinstall it, and you thought it would be a good idea to reformat the harddisk. Now if you only had one partition on the harddisk you wouldnt be able to format the disk without all your files get deleted.

But because you have partitioned your harddisk to two or more partitions you can format the system partition, reinstall your operating system and still have all your files left intact since you cleverly stored them on the other disk partition.

    So now you know!

my COMPAQ LAPTOP has recovery partition in D: known as PC RECOVERY i can FULL re install my pc but not deleting any files...:lol:

  7. is that CCleaner clean old download...in limewire?

becoz after i shutdown my limewire..then use CCleaner my old download are gone...(it says the old download cannot load)

what should i uncheck to CCleaner to not affect my old downloads??

  8. What about right clicking the task bar, select properties > customize, and click in the behaviour column for that icon, and select "always hide", and apply.

    Also check "hide inactive icons".

Out of sight, out of mind.

i know that but i dont like that becoz just "show the hidden icons" by brother see my icon :unsure:
