. I uninstalled a few programs recently, but they're definitely not completely/properly uninstalled.I'm sure there was a program mentioned here somewhere that does cleanup after uninstallation? Thanks.

I always seem to land back at Windows classic, with nothing on my desktop. For people who post in this thread I pose this question: How can I make my desktop more efficient? Seems like I'm fairly comfortable with it as it is, however...

Personally though, I think... you should reconsider what you're building. People can put together machines that are 90% as good as bleeding edge machines for much much less. If you have the money though, I guess it's up to you.
Also, Intel should drop the prices of the Conroe processors after the Penryn is released... so make sure you wait for that

From what I've seen if you leave your computer on 24/7 like I do, they dont get dusty.
There's no way for me to know for sure if thats why but I haven't cleaned my computers ever.

Defragging (or in this case, Defraggling
) free space requires extensive hard drive paging and quite a bit of file movement. It's not anything particular about Defraggler or your hard drive that causes this operation to take so long, it's just the operation itself is quite intensive.Woo for odd sentence structure.

I think it looks decent, though I'd change two things, I'd get a SATA-interface optical drive, and I wouldn't waste my money on Ballistix memory, unless I was planning to overclock.

You can go with dust filters, though they lower CFM (airflow) quite significantly.

I just had tech support at my office check out my CPU. He said I have some "bloated capacitators" which could cause my system to crash and may be the reason for the slowness.
He is checking into Dell for any recall or may have to order new parts.
Does this sound like it could be the reason for the slowness?

If the capacitors look like they have convex heads, then you should consider replacing your motherboard.

How about a screenshot of your task manager with CCleaner open as well? That can give us lots of details (CCleaner shows the hardware information, the task manager will let us know if you have too many services/programs going on in the background).

When you toggle between components, the program remembers where the scroll bar is, but when I'm at the bottom of Hard Drives and I click Graphics, I don't want to be all the way at the bottom! Please, when you switch components, the scroll bar should be at the top, not at the old position (of the old component).
