  1. Can anyone help - is there a way of getting CCleaner to run directly from a USB key

I find this program so helpful cleaning other people computers of junk, but I have to install it onto each computer I work on

    Thanks in advance

Edited - oops made a mistake, there already IS a portable version of CCleaner - I should've done a search for 'CCleaner Portable' instead of 'CCleaner USB'

  2. I downloaded cccleaner and installed today, I had requested desktop icon or short cuts to run program. There are none

can you help on how I correct this and run and fix problems. This is probably the wrong forem, but I don't know what elxe to do. Ddbeh1

I think this should've been posted in the CCleaner Forum, however I'll try & help

Firstly - have you tried uninstalling then re-installing CCleaner ?? - it's possible that something went amiss & so shortcuts were not made. It's also possible you have some form of Spyware/malware checker software running in the background that prevented the registry etc from being altered.

If you've tried reinstalling & it still doesn't give shortcuts etc then as long as you're not too concern about 'Context menus on Recycle bin' here's how to make a desktop shortcut

    1) Use Explorer & browse to where you installed CCleaner (default is 'C:\Program Files\CCleaner') & open the folder

    2) On the right hand side of window - Right Click on CCleaner.exe & select [Copy] (if you have 'hide Known File Extensions' you will only see the title 'CCleaner'

    3) Right Click on any blank space of your desktop & select 'Paste Shortcut'

You will now have a shortcut called CCleaner.exe on your desktop to do whatever you like with (move to another folder / Place on quicklaunch etc

If you want you can Right Click this shortcut & select 'Rename' to rename it to just 'CCleaner'

  3. I know 'Eddy 2' has already put a request in for 'Defrag Empty Space' (I've copied his request here) - but I thought I'll start a thread where everyone can add their own requests for features they would like to see in future Defraggler versions & keep them all nicely together for the developers to view

    Eddy 2 Post:

    Hi all,

There is a feature that I would appreciate very much in Defraggler, and that is that it could defrag the disk empty space.

That is, to 'simply' move all files so that one is placed right after the other. That way, the empty disk space would be pretty much in one big chunk (apart from the files that Defraggler can't move).

I would make that a separate option though. For example, another 'Defrag empty space' button next to the Analyze and Defrag buttons .

    Kind regards

    Eddy

    -------------------------

My own requests - the first is nothing too complicated

    - I'd like to see the 'Drive map legend' (White-Empty, Red-fragmented etc) shown on the same screen as the Defrag map, maybe under the [stop] button or a single line under the drive map, instead on a separate 'page'

    - 'Defrag by Folders', what I mean is that you can select a folder & all the files in that particular folder are defragged one at a time, instead of having to select them individually
